Just returned after 2 wonderful nights at the Lyzzick Hall Hotel. Fantastic location, wonderful staff - nothing was too much trouble. You felt at home here..... The food was excellent. The staff were so friendly and kind. A real pleasure to have stayed here. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so special.

I would say this was a decent, well maintained 3 star standard hotel in a beautiful setting. Booked it on KGB deals for 2 nights B&B with tea and scones on arrival; we had a reasonable size room (Number 12) which was clean and comfortable with a massive double bed and to us it was good value for the price paid. The food was really very good and, as an incentive to eat at the hotel, the four course evening meal was discounted by 15% with the added bonus of a free bottle of house wine if you ate there for two nights. The value of the house wine could be subtracted from a more expensive bottle if you wished.

It was quite obvious to us that many of the guests had stayed there before and the average age of the clientele was quite high but there were also quite a few families and couples in their thirties and forties so it made for a good mix. I would guess that the major reason for the popularity of this hotel is the friendliness and efficiency of the staff; they all seemed naturally well motivated and positive people.

Me my partner and also our dog stayed her ea couple of years ago. As we had our dog with us, we had to take a room outside of the main building in a room converted from a utility room for this purpose. Room was fine - obviously we would have loved to stay in the main building, but as we have our dog, we are lucky to find such fine establishments as this that cater for pets.
We ate in the main restaraunt and also took drinks in their bar and sitting rooms -as well as out on the terrace.
Stunning views outside. The food is excelent, as is the service. Everything is spot on.
We also used the swimming pool -again spot -on!
This year, ( june) we holidayed in Keswick again as we have for the past 4 years.
For a treat one night, we popped along to the Lyzzick for a few drinks and a meal.
Nothing has changed! Fantastic service, attention to detail and wonderful tasty food. The service in Lyzzick Hall is so efficient !
Recommende to all.

Lovely hotel with great facilities ....pool sauna and jacuzzi.fabulous dinner menu .superior room was spacious and comfortable...with king size bed facing the beautiful views of the hills. Extremely quiet and relaxing
Real surprise was only two star rating...apparently due to no 24hr reception and no 24hr room service
Mobile phone reception ...very variable

Not the most convenient location ..need car to get around from here ....is about 10mins from centre of Keswick

Room Tip: Book a superior room

My wife and I stayed in the Lyzzick Hall Hotel in mid-June this year. We had an offer from kgb deals for a 2 night stay with breakfast and afternoon tea with scones.

We found our room to be very comfortable with a fabulous power shower, which was great to use after a day's walking, the only down side was that the free wifi didnt stretch to the room (we were in room 25 at the back of the hotel). The restaurant was a bit overpriced for us (£30 per person) so we decided to head into Keswick in the evenings. The breakfasts were quite nice with a good selection - both mornings I had the "hearty" breakfast which was good. The service in the hotel was good. We used the pool / sauna which was in a very humid environment (as expected I suppose) I would recommend opening one of the doors and letting some air in. The pool was of a decent size for a hotel and quite warm and its open all day.

Its a nice quiet hotel, perhaps a little too quiet for us (none of the public rooms have a TV) but not to take anything away from the hotel which does have some spectacular views of the surrounding fells.

Outside the hotel, I'd recommend going on the Keswick Launch for a trip on the lake. We got off halfway round and walked part way round which was rather pleasant. The parking costs £7 for the day beside the lake so make sure you have plenty change!

Overall a good break in a good hotel in a wonderful part of North East England.

I had to write this review just to say a big THANK YOU to all the wonderful staff at Lyzzick Hall Hotel. They are all fantastic and made us feel like royalty, nothing was too much trouble ,from finding the right room to cope with my lack of mobility to the beautiful tray of tea and scones when we arrived. There was nothing that you could find fault with. The Hotel is set in beautifully tended gardens and boasts a swimming pool with the best view in Britain.
We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was wonderful with the sort of touches that could make this a five star establishment.
We hope to make the 260 mile journey again in the near future and try to stay a little longer this time.

Room Tip: If you are little less than nimble ask for room 30. This is a little ground floor room adjacent to t...

returned from a 2 night stay at Lyzzick Hall, the hotel is very comfortable and the staff were very friendly. It could do with a little bit of updating in places but was generally really nice. The pool was a welcome retreat at the end of a days walk and the views were spectacular. We did not eat in the hotel although it did come highly recommended. The walk into Keswick is a bit daunting as there is no footpath and the bus service is poor, you either need a car or the taxi was not badly priced. Overall a great hotel in a fantastic location.
