“C2C must!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 April 2014 via mobile

My fiancé and I stayed here before cycling C2C April 2014. Fantastic bike lock up, beds were comfy, room was spacious and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was the best I'd had in a b&b would highly recommend the porridge & scrambled egg on toast. A must stay b&b for anyone visiting Whitehaven!

My overall review is biased.... towards the benefits of the personal touch. There is a world of difference between impersonal perfection and the welcoming atmosphere that The Corner House exudes.
Whilst there are a few issues that the more niggly may fret about - the beds are comfy, the breakfast (with the prior menu preferences) is the best we've had for ages.
What really impressed us was the common touch of the face at the door as we arrived and the warmth exuded by both our hosts.
The laughs about the "Large" breakfast we ordered (before a hard day's work I may add) were appreciated.
Full marks all round.

A two night stay at the corner house was v enjoyable ,the room was comfy bright and clean with v good coffee and tea making facility. If you like a full English to start the day you won't be disappointed breakfast was one of the best we've had in a b&b if I had one thing too moan about and it's only little we would have liked to check in earlier ,apart from that fantastic stay

The young couple who renovated this property to beautiful standards were a delight to meet & extremely helpful with advice on what to see locally & where to eat, etc..
Our room was very comfortable with some lovely "extras" thrown in & the bed with it's good quality, crisp & clean linen, was soooo comfortable that a good night's sleep was guaranteed.
The hi-spec shower was a bit daunting on first inspection but was easy to operate & invigorating once used.
Breakfast was outstanding!
On our first morning we both had a full english after sampling the fresh fruit, juices, cereals & breads available & it was delicious being made up of fresh, local produce, perfectly cooked & presented.
I took advantage of pre-ordering kippers for the following day & again, these were excellent.
The owners have a real feel for what makes an outstanding stay & my wife & I could not recommend it more highly.

Room Tip: Rooms are not huge so if you're carrying lots of luggage, ask for a larger room. Look around the...

This hotel is absolutely perfect, by far the best decorated, best facilities, the best everything. the bathroom was so luxurious and the owners were fantastic. Also the breakfast was really nice wasn't a cheap fry up like you get in most places.

My own downer on the trip was that there is nothing in Whitehaven, its a one horse town with nothing much to do. But a lot of people seem to go for the walking and so on which isn't my thing so I cant really complain.

if you want a fantastic night in a B&B this is the place for you.

Room Tip: read up about Whitehaven before going

We slept in the twin derwent room because all the other rooms were taken. The beds were really comfortable and the decor was extremely nice. With welcoming coffee/tea making facility with biscuits and a chocolate. The ensuite shower room with it's jet shower was also extremely nice.
The hosts could not be any kinder with the cooked breakfast made to order.
The room didn't have a lot of space but that didn't really matter to us. I slept like a log and it was in a perfect location for us.
