Two of us stayed here in October 2013 when cycling the Coast 2 Coast route. We had a great night's sleep in a lovely twin room. The lounge looked very relaxing although we didn't use it much - I would have liked to stay longer in fact. The landlady was very helpful with good advice for meals, breakfast at 7am was no problem, and there was a safe place for bikes overnight. Ill definitely go back if I'm in the area again.
I was a bit concerned by the 'late arrival' policy on their website as our train from Oxford wasn't due in to Whitehaven until 7.30pm, but when I emailed the owner replied immediately to say it wouldn't be a problem - I think they just want to stop people planning to arrive in the middle of the night.
