“good beer good home cooked food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

on my own in Whitelhaven so on tripadvisor recommendation went here. it had to very nice real ales and I had some of their pie of the week with chips and it really was great - really tasted home cooked - couldn't fault it - and at a really good price. It was a very hot day - and the bar lady looked very hot but was still friendly and a pleasure to talk to.

“Cracking local boozer with great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

Nice friendly pub with a couple of rooms and a nice patio area out back. Beer was well kept with two hand pumps dispensing continually changing beer. The landlady said that having only two handpumps meant her beer was always fresh as it didn't last long. Quality. I had the fish and chips to eat. Wow. Possibly the nicest batter I've ever, proper handcut chips and a bowl of really tasty mushy peas. All washed down with well kept ale. Pub has several TVs so a great place to watch sport as well.

“Evening meal in the Globe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2014

My wife and I enjoyed yet another excellent meal in the Globe.
I had the special Red Thai curry with half chips and half rice and Naan bread, it was excellent.
My wife hade her usual Chilli, she would like to try something else, but is reluctant to pass up her favourite.
The real ale selection was different to my previous visit and excellent as always.
It is warm, comfortable, with an excellent menu, choice of drinks, and the friendlly service is second to none.

“PERFECTION.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 April 2014 via mobile

Best place I have ever visited! ! Foid is lovely along with the atomsphere, short wait for food at a very cheap price! I will continue to come here and try a different variety as the menu is muddled, in a good way from currys to baguettes to mixed grills!
