“Another good experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 December 2013

This was our second/third visit to Flavour and we weren't disappointed at all. The standard has remained consistent since opening and we were pleasantly surprised now we know this is the case. Although the place was heaving with people the service was excellent including the quality of food, the choices and the speed of delivery. There is a wonderful choice of cocktails and I enjoyed the Love Junk (midori, peach schnapps and apple juice) very much, although it was possibly a tad overpriced at £6.20. We like the way the owners have taken the idea of tapas but made the portions larger than usual to suit most people. Thanks for a great birthday meal!

“Birthday meal with my Mam”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 November 2013 via mobile

We arrived at Flavour last night to be warmly greeted by two lovely ladies who then attended to us straight away and seated us at our table. Having never been to a tapas bar before we were a bit stuck on what to order as a starter as we were not sure how it worked, waitress kindly came over and explained to us and we finally decided on the prawn and chorizio skewers after waiting a short period of time they arrived looking fab and when tasted were to die for! They were absolutely amazing! We followed this by ordering two steaks both well done they then arrived almost right away next to no wait at all. The food was presented really well and me or my mam couldn't wait to see if it tasted as good as it looked we also ordered side dishes of onion rings and corn on the cobb everything was handmade and so fresh no frozen food, packet food, etc. We finally got down to cutting into our beautifully presented main of Steak it was cooked to absolute perfection! Melted in the mouth, no fat and no grissle couldn't complain absolutely perfect! To follow we were both absolutely stuffed to the rafters but I decided to try the sticky toffee pudding and fresh cream to see if it was as good as the rest of the food we had sampled, and I WASN'T dissapointed it was scrumptious! The decor was classy, clean and minimal and Gordon Ramsay would have been proud to have dined here he couldn't fault it! Lovely welcoming staff 10/10 will deffinately be back!

“Disappointing!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 November 2013

Def not a big city feel on the night we chose to eat. The decor is a bit naff, not quite big city.
The tapas we ordered; pork in honey and soy sauce was ok, the saltiness of the soy sauce was a bit overpowering, the pork overlooked ( chewy as opposed to melt in the mouth) we couldn't finish it as it was too salty, perhaps low salt soy sauce would have been a better option. The Black Pudding and Chorizo was disappointing, bits of the chorizo so over cooked it was unpalatable, the egg on top was perfectly cooked.
Whitebait was good but the ailoli lacked flavour,
Prawns espanol were good, lots of garlic and not overcooked.
Nachos were a disaster! Don't bother with them.
All in all it was what I might expect in a West Cumbrian place, trying hard but not hitting the mark :(
It was terribly quiet, only our table and then another of three, whilst we were there.
The owner, whilst trying hard to please, was rather too loud, less is more!
I don't think I'll be back.
On a lighter note 2 tapas per person plus a sharing platter is adequate, unless you are starving.
