Booked a two night stay through travel zoo, the deal has turned out to be fantastic!! Throughout the hotel the décor is immaculate, clean and tidy. The staff from management down to the cleaners cannot do enough to ensure your stay is a pleasant one. We ate in the restaurant first night and, whilst a wee bit pricy, the food was gorgeous and beautifully presented in lovely surroundings. On the second night we ate at Workington Golf Club and had some brilliant grub for just £6.50 each.
Our aim was to play golf...well we were not to be disappointed. Again, staff were extremely helpful prior to arrival, in helping me to source local golf courses. Within a minute of the hotel is Workington GC, which at £15 on a Wednesday was not only great value, but it is a beautiful, challenging course for men and ladies. Up the coast you have Silloth Links and Cockermouth to name just two, there are lots more to enjoy.
Overall, we have a had a really nice, relaxing few days, taking in all the Lakes has to offer as well as playing some golf...win win. We will definitely come here again when planning another golf holiday to the Lakes.

we stayed here for two nights on a Travelzoo voucher. the rooms are lovely as is the whole building, very well maintained and looks newly decorated. the decor in the rooms is modern. lovely big shower. Staff very helpful and friendly. we ate there both nights as it is a bit out of town. the first night we had the set menu and the food was great. second night we went for the supper menu which has more choice, and is more casual, also very good. breakfast in the morning was also very good and you had a choice of various breakfast menus. i did find the bedroom quite hot both nights, even though the heat wasnt on and there is no air conditioning. Also just be careful if on a voucher which says that you can get 20% of wine and food when taking the set menu - both parties must take the whole 3 course meal or it doesnt apply, so even though I wasnt hungry enough to have a dessert I would have saved myself money by ordering it!

Stayed at hotel on a special deal which was in fact too good to be true. The hotel is well maintained, clean, tidy and staff very friendly. The first night which was a Saturday there was a wedding on and we thought it would be noisy with guests coming and going etc. we did not hear a thing as it was at the back of the hotel. We ate in the restaurant on the first night from the general menu as it had much nicer options than the set menu. The food was excellent and good value for money. My only gripe was that we ordered selection of breads for £1.50 and all we got was a small brown and small white roll!!! Most places you get bread included but think I expected something different ie special types of bread. The setting is fantastic but you need car to travel to the different places. Very noisy out back due to the amount of crows. The noise they made was very loud but you can't prevent nature. I would recommend this hotel to anyone as it was first class

Room Tip: Room 2 with 4 poster bed was very nice

We recently visited the Hunday Manor on a Travelzoo saver voucher and we were IMPRESSED! We have been to quite a few of these saver mini holidays and some of them have not been all they were made out to be (the power of the advert and Photoshop) but this one was fab. We don't normally go to the west lakes usually staying in or around Windermere etc so straight away we were out of our comfort zone. But this gamble paid off good style.
The hotel was easy to find and when we pulled into the grounds it is quite a lovely building. The staff were lovely from the word go and the owner turned out to be a nice guy, and a good chef as he did the cooking on the first night; we recommend the salmon. We were in room 5, which was roomy and well laid out with a big bed and chaise longue for reclining after lunch. The view from the room was nice if you like wind turbines (which we didn't mind). The only snag was the stairs leading to the room, as we were on the second floor; this was the only down side (as I struggle with the stairs). Finally, I recommend visiting the local zoo which was really good particularly the birds of prey. All in all THIS WAS GREAT VALUE.

Room Tip: If you can't climb stairs ask for a lower floor room, as there is no lift.

We booked Hunday Manor for our end of year sixth form Leaver's Dinner. The location and surroundings were beautiful, and the function room looked gorgeous all set up as it was. The food was okay, nothing special..perhaps over priced for was it was, as were the bar drinks, but the waiters and what I can only assume as the manager waiting on were very polite and professional.Evening was tainted slightly by the bar lady who, a minute before the night was due to end, came out and stood in front of the bar, impatiently looking at her watch while the DJ was playing a final song for those in the sixth form whose last night it was together, which I and many others thought was rude and unnecessary.

My fiancé and myself booked a three night stay here through Wowcher. When we arrived the hotel staff where very helpful and because I have a disability (stairs are my problem) they tried to get us in a lower room they don't have any ground floor rooms so we decided to take it slowly and stay in the room we where allocated on arrival (5). Our stay was really lovely breakfast was nice and we did have the full English one morning this was all local produce and you could tell really nice. My only regret was it was so far from the lakes luckily we have a car but you really couldn't get around without one. Very helpful staff, lovely rooms, we would almost certainly stay here again Thank You.

My husband and I stayed her for two nights last week through an internet deal (£99 , 2 nts B&B) which was excellent value for such a lovely hotel. The location was a little remote, but within 10 minutes we were in Cockermouth, 20 minutes we were in Keswick and Derwent Water. The hotel is a charming old country manor, with pleasant gardens, bar, and lounge seating area. The bedroom was small, but adequate. Complimentary tea/coffee/drinking chocolate were provided. The bed was a standard double and was so comfortable! I had the best two nights sleep for a long while. The power shower in the bathroom was amazing, and again, complimentary toiletries were provided. We had a meal in the hotel on one of the nights, which was really nice and reasonably priced. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked, with a choice of cereals, yogurt, fruit, muffins, and full English or items like kippers or haddock which was just that little bit different. Overall, we had a lovely relaxing stay at this hotel, and would definitely return.
