I came to this hotel with my girlfriend and sister in the evening on the 6th may (bank holiday Monday) and ate in the restaurant. We stopped here by chance after seeing a sign stating they were "now serving food". I was a bit worried at first because we were the only people their, never a good sign! but as the night went on my doubts were more than proved wrong, we received a very warm welcome and were showed through to the bar and served drinks. we were given menus and placed our order. after 10-15 minutes the manager took our drinks and escorted us through to the restaurant and brought us some complimentary bread and butter, I was the only one having a starter and this was served minutes later, it was delicious! slow cooked chicken with pink peppercorns and pistachios, served with toast and a herb salad very tasty. As for the mains, me and my sister had braised pork belly with peas and pancetta, croquette potatoes, and baby carrots it was stunning! the pork belly melted in your mouth and had loads of flavour. my girlfriend had the steak with a warm shallot and potato salad with herb butter which she thoroughly enjoyed. we ordered three desserts to share and loved all of them, we had the chefs take on trifle, a pistachio sponge with cherries and fresh cream, a chocolate mousse with different types of orange and a "Tonka bean" panna cotta with rhubarb and ice cream, we'd not heard of Tonka beans before but it was an amazing flavour! id love to know where to get them from!! overall for a restaurant that had only been open 3 days it felt very smooth and we were made to feel very welcome almost like well known friends as opposed to customers, and although on our own we never felt uncomfortable. I will definitely be returning and recommending.
