Positives - fabulous meal, great service, good value for money. Breakfast also very nice.

Negatives - "Executive" room is anything but. Bedroom itself just about ok, but bathroom had poor fittings, a shower more or less hanging off the wall and unpleasant finish all round. Keep the extra £25 and go for a standard room.

General - I had to phone down to reception at 03.00 to ask them to turn the music off as it was directly under my room. As far as I knew there were no guests still in the bar and this was confirmed the next morning when one of the staff told me that the only people there at that time were one of the owners and the general manager! Nice to know they care so much about the comfort of their guests.

Had a really enjoyable stay here after going to Alton Towers for the day. The rooms were beautifully decorates, as was the rest of the Hotel. Ashbourne is very pretty but there is not alot to do in the evenings (which didn't really matter because the room was so comfy we didn't want to leave). Would deffinately recommed this hotel!

Stayed in room 4, an executive room. Would hate to see the size of a standard room.
Ate in the restaurant which was a little dissapointing.
My wife had a steak with a confit tomato, which was a tinned tomato, the pepper sauce was tasteless. At nearly £20 very dissapointing.
My lamb was very good. Room 4 cost £125 for the night, I have stayed in far better rooms for half the price.

Unfortunatley we were dissapointed with our stay at Bramhalls, we did arrive with high hopes but sadly felt a little let down. The welcome was warm and we were suly showed to our room. We had booked the executive double (Room 4) but it was not the standard i would expect from a 4* executive room. Neither me or my partner had a restful nights sleep, mainly due to it being one of the warmest nights of the year so far and the room was stifiling!! It wasn't until the morning that my partner realised the radiator was on!! We had the window open all night and heard a lot of commotion outside the hotel in the early hours. The traffic was also extremely heavy in the morning with trucks rumbling past our window. The breakfast was lovely and the staff friendly.

Read a few reviews on the hotel before we went but booked it as it was just the location for us to meet up with friend who where cmping down the road.Well we couldnt fault the hotel the food or the staff. Our room 4 had one of the most comfortable mattressess i have ever slept on even pull it back so i can get it as we do need a anew one the breakfast was one of the best we have had while staying away .Some people said the food was to expencisive in the restaurant but if you want quality you have to pay.We will return to the Brambles for another weekend away without hesitation .

Stayed here with 4 friends last week. We were on a cycling trip and stayed just the one night. Amazing little hotel with lovely restaraunt. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great menu, lovely food - cook (Laura) is brilliant. Top full english breakfast next day. Good value for money - couldn't fault the place - perfect.

Due to rain cancelling our planned camping trip we stumbled across Bramhalls and had a lovely relaxing two night break. We called them on the Sunday evening and managed to get a good late deal on a two night in a executive room (£65 per night for the room). We were in room 5 which was a good size, nicely decorated, heavy curtains to block out the light and a really comfy bed. The bathroom was slightly dated but clean.
Breakfast was fine with a good choice available.

We ate in the restaurant on the Monday night,. The food was good but slightly expensive. My poor choice of main course (a bland fish dish with everything white or cream) was more than made up for with the great chocolate brownie desert. My partner raved about his main course of pork belly.
