“Very comfortable apartment in lovely setting. Highly recommended.”
Reviewed 18 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We had a lovely stay in Lady Bower Lodge with friends. Everything was catered for from kitchen equipment to fancy soaps in the bathroom. The apartment is spacious, light and comfortable. There is plenty to do in the surrounding areas including beautiful walks and city amenities in Sheffield for rainy days. Highly recommended.

We had a 7 day stay in this excellent apartment. Comfortable with everything you need very clean and tidy. Wonderful area to explore we had two lazy days the first in Bakewell and the other in Castleton the rest of the time was spent hiking around Padley Gorge, Derwent Reservoir and Win Hill. I will be recommending this to my friends.

“Everything you could want, and more!”
Reviewed 5 December 2013 for a stay in June 2013

I surprised my boyfriend with a cheeky mid-week break last Summer, and we had an amazing time. Wonderfully luxurious bed linen, and hours spent in the bath with Molton Brown products. It felt like the perfect retreat to come home to a toasty warm flat after the exertions of our stay. The pub across the road is very friendly and good for a couple of pre-dinner drinks. We ate there one night and ordered the giant prawn cocktail, which was a sight to behold indeed. And the fabulous farm shop at Chatsworth House meant we had some delicious grub to cook up in the well kitted kitchen - take your credit card tho, the farm shop is so good, you may just want to buy it all!

“Wonderful to be back”

We just don't bother to look at any other accommodation in Derbyshire. Having discovered Ladybower Lodge with the high quality of fittings, why would we ? The building is interesting, the parking is easy and secure, the apartment is so comfortable and warm that after a day out and about we can hardly rouse ourselves to get to the excellent pub across the road. For winter walkers or tourists this lovely place would be hard to beat.

Excellent accomodation in a beautiful peaceful setting.
The apt is well equipped and if you love to cook there are plenty of " extras" than you do not usually find in holiday lettings ie garlic press and stoneware dishes that are great for entertaining.I even spotted a couple of staub cast iron coquettes along with plenty of children's dining sets.
Wifi worked great in this apt and there is even a personal phone for local calls and emergencies, usually in the Peak district the signals can be poor but maybe because the apt is on a second floor it has good reception.
Conveniently located close to Sheffield for food shopping but there are plenty of local shops on the way to Castleton or Bakewell, but please remember butcher shops tend to have weird hours , open early , close early or just closed a few days a week.
Hope and Bakewell have great farm shops along with Chatsworth House and if you travelling to Sheffield on the Rivelin road there is a wonderful farm shop that i highly recommended for meat.
The weather was sunny and warm on our visit so we took advantage of the large windows that are easily opened, and appreciated the turning handle in the kitchen for the windows in the skylight.
After a long day hiking i enjoyed a long soak in the large tub and stretching out in the spacious living room, great for yoga.
Hope to return in the near future.

“Very comfortable accommodation and lovely area”

Myself and some friends spent a weekend at the Lodge.

The apartment itself has been converted to a high standard and had everything that we needed for the weekend - long sofas and comfy beds were well appreciated after a long trek into the hills.

We went on a lovely 5 hour walk along a mountain overlooking the reservoir which had stunning scenery and an intriguing giant stone pile - which looked Stonehenge-esque. Only bumped into a handful of people during our walk - which was on a well marked path.

Would go again

“There is no other place, anywhere, in any way like Ladybower Lodge”

This property is fairly recently available to rent as the owner loved having this luxury apartment available and I can understand why. A modern comfortable apartment, with every facility a guest could wish for, located in a completely unique and amazing building. The wow factor is there for anyone interested in architecture and design.
There is parking for two cars, a famous pub across the road, and for walkers and cyclists you could stay for a month and never move your car. For those exploring by car, the list is endless. Children and grown-ups alike find the caves and Blue John mines exciting in Castleton and the farm and adventure playground at Chatsworth is second to none.Of course the grounds and interior of Chatsworth make it one of England's most spectacular stately homes, but for those interested in historical buildings this location has access to so many.
At the end of the day Ladybower Lodge is a real pleasure to come home to, offering the chance to relax in great comfort and want for nothing.
