Owner description: Our 18th Century Windmill is the only surviving Six Sailed Stone Built Windmill in the Country! We give visitors an insight into the life of a miller back in the day and how the windmill works. The restored windmill is working again and produces flour that can be bought in the shop on site! We look forward to welcoming you to the windmill soon, and we'd like to take the time to thank you for visiting our TripAdvisor Page

First of all there's the location; set up on a hill with lovely views. We were there on a scorching day and had a nice picnic at one of the sets of picnic tables overlooking the vista. There's plenty of good free parking too.
Then there's the mill - a working mill producing flour they sell in the small shop - restored to excellent condition.
Mainly though there's the volunteers who for £3.50 will give you an hour-long tour around the mill (two stiff flights of stairs). They have a great knowledge of the place and talked with enthusiasm and humour.
Heage Windmill is well worth a visit. It's not the biggest attraction in the world, but will occupy a couple of hours.

Really interesting. Volunteers gave a great insight into the history of the Mill. Only small but worth every penny.

When this was a ruin it was my playground. We would climb to the top and sit being boys. It is probably a good thing that it has been done up but somehow I can't get used to it. Enthusiastic bunch of volunteers do a fine job.

A great view and lots of events for all the family. I take visitors here and they are always blown away....sometimes quite literally!
