I stayed at the Waltzing Weasel in the Peak District this summer and was very pleasantly surprised. I stayed in one of the smaller rooms, but it was still a good size, with lovely furniture and a big bathroom with a bath and shower. The hotel also has free wifi, a sunny garden, fantastic food and a view of the Kinder Scout. As if that wasn't enough, the owner is delightful and couldn't have been more helpful. I was traveling alone, but I didn't feel awkward at all.

The hotel is located near to Hayfield, where there are tea shops and pubs, and you can walk to the National Trail from the door.

I would recommend this hotel for business trips or holidays in the Peaks. I will certainly be going back soon!

Room Tip: Phone the hotel directly to book rather than using a website as the owner is very obliging.

We arrived late and Lorraine met us with a cheery smile and showed us to our room. We had upgraded to a luxury room and we were amazed at the quality of the bed and bathroom - absolutely spotless! Best nights sleep I have had in ages. Shower in the morning - piping hot, again faultless. At breakfast we met Carol and once met, never to be forgotten, what a wonderful, charming and friendly host! We felt we had known her for years. Lorraine joined us and showed us to our table - again spotlessly clean. Breakfast ordered and helped ourselves to fresh fruit salad and quality juice. Cereal choice excellent too. Full english was amazing, cooked to perfection with a selection of wholemeal & white toast, qualilty jam and marmalade with endless supply of piping hot tea and coffee. I can honetsly say this is the best B&B I have ever stayed in, beautiful surroundings, excellent rooms and breakfast plus charming hosts. Would we go back again? Can't wait! Going to spend some time in The Peak District later this year and will definitely use this as our base. If you have stayed here recently, please write to T/A to ask for the removal of the comments prior to Carol & Lorraine taking over The Waltzing Weasel as I am sure they should have 5 stars.
Thanks again for a great time x

We had a really great weekend here.
The room and the premises were very nice, absolutely no complaints. What made the trip really special was the staff. The owner and her daughter were both lovely. Above and beyond customer service. They were very flexible and just seemed to genuinely want us to have the nicest weekend we possibly could. Food was cracking too, got to love a good breakfast. The location was also great, a short and very pleasant walk from some good pubs and restaurants. Can take some time to get the shower to the right temperature....but they do warn you of this in the excellent welcome pack.

My husband and I met up with my sister and her husband at this delightful B and B in the middle of gorgeous countryside. Lovely rooms, a good hearty home cooked breakfast to set us up for the day and stunning walks. The village of Hayfield is only a short walk away and is a typical English village, great community, little shops and a good pub. Near to the WW is a good pub that serves chinese food, the landlords wife is chinese a.....a little further out is the Lamb, another great pub with great food. In New Mills is a good Indian called Simpley Indian, worth a visit as Monday Tuesday and Weds it's only 9.95 for 5 courses per head. Also a station here if you want to get to Manchester and leave the car behind. Well worth a visit to this lovely little place. We will be back Lorraine......

Stayed here for one night visiting a friend in Hayfield. Lovely peaceful location. Warm friendly welcome from Carol and her daughter. The whole place including the room was furnished to a high standard with luxurious touches. A good breakfast with real coffee and crisp linen table settings. Definitely a notch above what I was expecting from a rural B&B. we would definitely stay here again.
