Lovely menu, mix and match dishes on the sausage and mash menu... glad i didn't opt for the 'served in a yorkshire pud for a £1 extra" option i would have spent all night trying to stand up! Generous portions, delicious and very reasonably priced. My daughter is a fussy eater so keeping options open ordered a SMALL garlic mushroom and goats cheese salad with side of chips and onion rings, when the small salad came it was a meal in itself, included potatoes and bread.. delicious. For pud we shared a chocolate fudge cake with a HUGE dollop of softly whipped cream. There were a number of 'classier' choices but on this occasion we stuck with tradition and were not disappointed. So good menu, good prices, generous portions... recommended!

Shan't go into the food or the restaurant itself because it was ok i.e. not bad, not good. This was our 2nd time eating here separated by 12 months. The biggest problem we have found is the speed that they bring the main course after the starter. We hadn't even had our table cleared! This was both times, so no one-off. Suggest you tell them not to rush the food when you order.

We visit Castleton regularly in our caravan and as we always have our 2 dogs with us, we like to eat in the pubs where dogs are permitted. We've eaten here a couple of times and the full English breakfasts are fantastic! Well worth a visit if you're in the area!

Visited whilst staying in Castleton for a week. Great food, great beer (real ale), great service. Recommended. Dining room on the first floor is better than the ground floor dining area.

We went on Wednesday 4th June in the evening and the food was gorgeous and then we went back on Thursday 5th June in the morning for their award winning cooked breakfast it was the best cooked breakfast I have ever had. The staff were all lovely. Definitely will be visiting pub again if we go back to castleton.
