Had a fantastic stay for four nights in the cottage, very clean and cosy with everything you need inside and on the doorstep to great views, walks and shops etc

“Our third visit - says it all!”

Ideally located in Castleton, close to all amenities and attractions. The cottage is well-appointed, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. This was our third visit, which certainly suggests we like it there, and we hope to return again in the not too distant future.

“Great, atmospheric English village.”

This is the 2nd time we have stayed in Castleton, the first being in January between the Youth Hostel and the Old Cheshire Cheese pub. We returned to play music in the pub and left it to Jim and Ann to book accommodation.

Honeysuckle Cottage is typical of the beautiful houses throughout Castleton and set in a wee close with a couple of others properties.

I can honestly say there is not a single negative thing I can say about Honeysuckle in terms of setting, facilities and cleanliness.

Get to Castleton and you will (as I did) fall in love with it.

Between hill-walking, the caves and the excellent pubs it is a perfect holiday destination.

“Cosy and compact”
Reviewed 18 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Wonderful weekend in Castleton. Stayed as 4 adults and was a little too small but not an issue just for a few nights. Spotlessly clean and had everything you need.
Great location less than 2 minutes to the nearest pub. Great for walking and visiting all the caverns.
Had a great stay and looking forward to going back.

“Cosy cottage, great location.”

This is the third cottage we have rented over Christmas week and by far the best for location, value and cosiness. The cottage itself is compact, but had everything we wanted. It was clean and the kitchen was well equipped. There was a lovely Christmas tree and tasteful decorations.
The weather was pretty windy and wet for some of our stay, but we didn't feel it at all as the cottage is nestled in a very sheltered spot. The bonus of this cottage is your own parking space - Castleton gets busy coming up to Christmas with the famous lights and the carol concerts in the Peak Cavern so it was good to be able to access parking right outside, and off the road.
The cottage is located just off the market square, right near all the lovely pubs, cafes and shops. Most of the pubs are geared up for walkers and dogs, though some require you to sit in the bar side, which is fair enough. The pubs could be a little more imaginative for the vegetarian - the George had the most options, and was good value for money.
The owner was very friendly and helpful.
Overall I would fully recommend this cottage for couples, and families (the single beds might be a bit compact for larger adults).

“Lovely cottage in beautiful location”

Just returned from a lovely break at honeysuckle cottage. So homely, and with a xmas tree and twinkling lights to greet us on arrival made us feel very christmassy, also a great location for exploring castleton and the surrounding areas. We took our dog who has been spoilt rotten with the lovely walks he has had, followed by a visit to one of the local pubs, who are only too happy to accept our four legged friends! Sunday lunch at the castle was especially nice. Already planning our return visit for 2014.

“Lovely cottage, fabulous location”

We are regular visitors to Castleton and came across the cottage on a walk one day. We were drawn to its location and the fact we could take our dog. We had a fabulous week. The cottage is well equipped, very clean and the owner is extremely helpful. We loved that we could just walk out of the door and be right across the road from Cavedale and in the heart of the village for walking our dog in the morning.
Castleton is beautiful with plenty of amazing walks but areas such as Ladybower and Monsal Trail are easy to get to for more walking opportunities. In addition, villages such as Matlock, Bakewell and Eyam, all lovely, are within reach.
As the property has 2 bedrooms we were able to have my parents come to stay for a couple of days who loved the cottage and its location.
Castleton has a number of great pubs if you wish to dine out but the cottage also has a good kitchen if you wish to have an evening in. All in all superb.
