“A nice place to stay”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

We arrived a little earlier than the check in time, but the rooms were ready so we could get in and put our bags down, which was nice since we didn't arrive by car. We booked two rooms and both of them were very nice, but we weren't together (one room was upstairs in the main building and the other was outside in a seperate building).

The room I had was a little dark with just one small window, but there was a beautiful big corner bath to relax in, which was wonderful.

I've seen some reviews talking about hearing other guests upstairs, but IMHO although I could hear guests upstairs, it wasn't loud or offputting. I slept very well. The bed was so comfortable.

Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and we felt welcomed. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Room 10 has a corner bath, which would probably come in handy if you are disabled as there is plenty...

We have stayed here twice now, once in Nov 2009 as a party of 6 and again in may 2010 as a couple. we had room 3 on request as it has a Jacuzzi!! The only thing we missed was the full english breakfast,it was continental although this option may have changed since then.
Since those stays we have been back many times to eat and drink of an evening and the food and service is good...not fabulous but good. They held a beer festival last year which we were lucky to enjoy and it was great. We'll be back in the winter as its the log fires and cosy atmosphere that make it.

Easy to find, but rooms on the second floor were difficult to access via a very steep stairway and no lifts. Had to register in the restaurant and then access the accommodation by a different external doorway.
Free continental breakfast was a bonus.

Spent a lovely weekend in a really nice hotel. Rooms lovely and big, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Staff were great and the location was perfect. Park your car and forget about it for your entire stay. Everything is within walking distance. The food in the hotel was exactly what we wanted and we were surrounded by happy and friendly people. Definitely going to stay here again.

The inn it self was clean and tidy ,the room I had was clean and tidy , but we could hear every movement made by the people in the room above .The food we only had a lunch time Sandwich witch took 40 minutes to come when not busy so decided to eat somewhere . The staff where not friendly in fact did not want to be there by the attitude they had . Every time we had to look for someone to serve us .The breakfast waitress again had to find her .Not a friendly place would not stay again.

Was hard t find at first as the road was blocked my roadworks and the place is called "The Castle" which confused us as we were looking for the Innkeepers Lodge. However we found it and booked in. Staff were really friendly and helpful, the room was massive and had real beams in it. The views from our room was awesome. The menu there was lovely so we ate our dinner there which was really really nice. Got a good nights sleep and in the morning had a continental breakfast - plenty to eat for breakfast. We booked this at the last minute and I felt that we really got lucky as we loved it so much

Room Tip: Room 11 is massive and very pretty, also nice a quiet
