as we were on a reconnaissance to find out which tour would
be best for an outing for my clients we spoke to the lady in the shop. She was very friendly and helpful. Her knowledge of the caverns in the area was good and she also took time to find us information on the other sites. The guide was also friendly and knowledgeable explaining clearly and in detail how the caverns were formed, how they were discovered and how they are still being mined. He even informed us about the body that was trapped in one of the tunnels and is still there. Thankfully that story was told on the way out lol
over all it was a great experience and would recommend it.

We called in on the way home from the peak district, What a run down hole in the ground, Firstly let me say I didn't bother going down the mine, If the shop is anything to go by Wouldn't be worth it. Value for money NO a family of 2 adults and 3 children £35 What on earth do they spend the money on, If you need the toilet Find a bush its much cleaner and better!, Have a look at the pictures on here to see. If you have been to white scare caves in the Dales then come here you will be very disappointed. Such good potential but what a dump.

We have more positive than negative comments on trip advisor but as in everyday life you always get a minority of people that whatever you try to do you will never please. I wish many hikers who never enter our venue would go behind a bush our amenities may be a little better then. We do the best we can considering we are half way up a mountain with no mains water. After all the vast majority of people visit us to see a spectacular array of chambers within our Cavern they do not come to rate our toilet facilities.

Blue John Cavern

very good informative tour and not too long for the children. A lot of steps!!! maybe not a good choice for the elderly or unfit.

This is the second time I've been down the mine. Many years between visits but it hasn't changed much. The site is not over-commercialised. The cafe/gift shop at the top is simple. Going down the mine is chilly: be sure to wrap up well. The air down the caverns is wonderfully fresh. My hayfever vanished for the time we were down there. Lovely spot. Just as nice as last time.

Sadly arrived here at 4.20pm to be told they close at 4.30pm, and the tour took 1 hour and there was no-one available to do one! Very disappointing.
