This has to be one of the de facto walks to try when visiting Castleton or the surrounding area. Park up just outside of Castleton near the old broken road to get parked easily (Castleton can be a pain!), tackle the climb up Mam Tor first, be astounded by the views; South over Castleton and Hope Valley to the "White Peaks", or North to the Dark Peak, with Kinderscout and the Vale of Edale. Follow the ridge enjoying these views left and right, then either continue to LoseHill or turn right at Hollins Cross and walk back into Castleton. For great food, try the George Hotel on Castle Street and then walk the 20 minutes or so back to your car. Perfect day out when the weather is good.
