“Great B&B, charming host”
Reviewed 20 June 2013

We stayed here for a long weekend and found it to be comfortable and brilliantly located. Alan is a really lovely host and nothing was too much trouble, even running people to the station and offering to give us a lift to a restaurant in the next village. Breakfast was plentiful and well cooked and the atmosphere of the place is really relaxed. We would definately stay here again,.

I went to the Four Seasons with my boyfriend for the second time recently. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the new hosts Lucy and Matt were really friendly and a lot more welcoming & helpful during our stay than the previous time we went, with the former owners. Since the first time we stayed, it has improved massively and the new decor looks great! We would defintely go back again and would recommend this B&B to anyone!

We stayed last september it was great. The rooms are spacious with everything you need. The hosts I couldnt fault. The bathroom was lush, the bed was very comfy and the duvet was amazing. I can not wait to come back.

We arrived in the morning on Saturday 2nd March to a warm welcome. We were shown to our room on the top floor. A clean and spacious room with nice furniture and a lovely view of the hills. There was space for 4, although only 3 of us and a dog staying. The beds were comfortable after a long day walking and we all slept well. The bathroom wasn't ensuite but we didn't mind this. We all enjoyed a delicious cooked breakfast the next morning before a day of visiting the castle and caves. Thanks for a great stay, we would definately book again.

Stayed here on Friday 15th Feb, we arrived tired and muddy but were given a warm welcome and shown up to our room.
Our room was one of the large family rooms at the top of the house which could have accommodated 5 so there was loads of room for the two of us!
The room was warm, bed comfortable and everything clean.
Matt recommended the Bull for an evening meal and what a great choice that turned out to be!
Breakfast was good with unlimited cereal, toast, juice and a delicious fry up.

Only good things to say about the Four Seasons.

We loved this place and it does exactly what it says on the tin. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with all the little extras you need. The couple who manage it are charming, welcoming, very helpful and leave you be to enjoy your stay your way. They are new to the area but have made a point of getting to know about the good places to go for food and what to do in the area. The breakfasts alone are worth staying here for.

Castleton is a busy, lively place with a very friendly atmosphere and in a fantastic setting. There are lots of great walks and places to visit in the area plus a good choice of pubs and eateries and an amazing old fashioned sweet shop. We will definitely be coming back and will hope to stay again at Four Seasons as it offers everything we need at a sensible price.

Room Tip: The room with the private bathroom was no problem at all-it was just across from the landing..

Nice enough place, however looks a little dated from outside. Upon arriving, we parked out back which was perfect as the front road is the Main Street in Castleton. From the outside, it looks half empty and almost like it is just about to be refurbished. We stayed for 1 night and the room we had was on the front. It had a double and a single bed in it. The rooms were cleanish but again they desperately need doing up. There was a few stains on the carpet and also some damp coming in from the bathroom. Our room lokked like it had started to be refurbished last year and left.We only wanted it for a bed to sleep in however so it was good enough for us. Castleton itself is a lovely little village with plenty of walking and pubs nearby. I would recommend The George for good sized freshly cooked pub grub. If we came back to castleton, I would probably stay at the bed and breakfast again but I just think that for £70 a night, it needs some money spending on it to get it back up to standard. The breakfast was delicious though and plentiful and the owners were friendly and left us to our own devices.
