“Beautifully finished house with everything we needed”

Everything about this place was great. It was exceptionally clean, beautifully furnished and finished and had everything we needed including loads of kitchen stuff, a dishwasher (which is invaluable in a large group!), really nice showers, a bath, a BBQ, a nice garden, a garage with electric door, a nice and decent sized tv with freesat & a selection of dvds (just to name a few!). Perfect for any sort of group I imagine, there were toys/highchairs/dvds for groups with children too. We were a single sex group of 8 and there was plenty of room for us all. Also lots to do in the area including carriage museum, Chatsworth, steam railway etc. Would definitely visit again.

Had a family wedding in Sheffield and reception just outside Darley Dale and was looking for accommodation and came across Thorncliffe House. What a find, pictures do not do it justice and Kate was a wonderful host. Our family had a great stay everything we could have wanted from this holiday home. We will also be using trip advisor again it was smooth no hassle. Thorncliffe house is a real home from home everything you need for a perfect holiday. Although not much time was spent exploring the area (wedding celebrations) but what we did see added to the experience. Well worth a stay, house very well situated for Chatsworth, Matlock and Matlock Bath. I would highly recommend Thorncliffe house as a fabulous and stunning place to stay. Hope we get to return to enjoy the surrounding area too.

“Wow what a holiday - book today!”

I wanted a house big enough for three generations to get together to celebrate my daughter's graduation from sheffield university (about 45mins away). The comfortable bedrooms and living rooms certainly met ours needs and Kate even got a pouffe for my father who had recently broken his foot which made his stay more comfortable.

The house is well situated for visiting many tourist sites including Bakewell and Chatsworth
House which are both within 20-30 mins away. We tried the church pub which was quiet and cheap for lunch.

I would love to spend another week in the future and would recommend booking.

Thorncliffe House is beautifully decorated, very well equipped and very clean. We had a lovely stay there. The house was so nice we almost didn't want to go out! There is a large kitchen and dining area ideal for everyone to gather round and plan the day ahead. A comfortable large lounge with plenty of seating for all. Comfy beds and luxurious bathrooms. Mobile signal not good but there is free wifi. Just off the A6 in a quiet location it has easy access to Chatsworth, Bakewell and the Peak District. Kate, the owner, was very welcoming and most helpful. I would definitely stay there if I am in the area again.

This is very well maintained and equipped property, That is in a lovely part of England. The photographs do not do it justice. The house is very comfortable, and the bedrooms are great. The kitchen is ideal for cooking family meals. The owner is very helpful and thoughtful. We were welcomed with toys for kids , and a bottle of wine. She responds immediately to messages. The area has many attractions for families, which can be enjoyed irrespective of the weather. The house has poor mobile reception but compensated by WIFI access via a password. We had our groceries delivered by local tesco. Would recommend unreservedly. The only minor inconvenience was having to message owner via trip-advisor website. once booked would have preferred to email directly.

“Fantastic house in a great location”

Where to start? The house was immaculate with everything we could possibly need. The bedrooms were clean and spacious, with lovely fluffy towels provided. We loved the open plan kitchen/diner and enjoyed social meals around the large table. Kate was a friendly, thoughtful host who had left the children some toys to play with and a bottle of wine for the adults. Kate was quick to reply to all my queries before our stay and was more than happy to be contacted during our visit. Couldn't ask for anything more! There was plenty to do in the area and our friend's two year old enjoyed the steam railway. Thanks so much Kate!
