“The place to stay”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

Just spent 3 days at this top notch B&B. Julie the owner was both welcoming and helpful. The accommodation was clean well presented and comfortable
The breakfasts were a delight (pre-order your requirements the night before) and the baking Julie did made me wish I lived nearer
Allmans Heath Cottage has superb views over countryside, is near to lots of nice pubs but is only 5 mins drive from Glossop where there are more eating/shopping opportunities. It is also well situated to explore the Peak District
I would have no hesitation in recommending Allmans Haeth Cottage as the place to stay.

We arrived, a bit stressed out, to a serene, friendly welcome - and excellent cake! The food is amazing; served in a beautiful room overlooking views of hills and water. Master craftsmen Jack Badger have done a wonderful job on the interior. Our room was so peaceful & comfortable; we had an excellent night's sleep, soothed by the calm warmth of the atmosphere the host has created. This place is something special; we hope to be back.

We received a wonderful warm welcome from Julie and her sister who gave us delicious home-made biscuits served in the cosy lounge in front of delightful log fire. The whole place is absolutely beautiful, amazing bespoke furniture and interior styled perfectly. Julie sure knows how to make her guests feel comfortable. Great room with fab en-suite shower room. Breakfast was delicious with tasty home baked bread. The location is excellent for those wanting to discover some of the beautiful walks around the Glossop area and the High Peak.We will most definitely be back.

With first class service and immaculate comfort this special country cottage offers a wonderful setting with superb hospitality offered by Julie. Think beautiful interiors with open stone fireplaces and masterfully carved wood panelling, oak doors and flooring and flawlessly chosen accessories. Luxurious bathroom suites blend traditional and modern design. Antiques sit comfortably alongside modern and classic furniture. We arrived to the glow of an open fire and a pot of tea served with delicious home made flapjack. Later freshly baked banana bread was offered with another fresh pot of tea and it tasted every bit as good as it sounds!! The beds were very comfortable and soft fluffy towels and robes were supplied with an array of beautifully scented soaps. We chose home made yogurt served with granola and fruit followed by a superb cooked breakfast. If you're a vegan Julie also serves home made vegetarian sausages! It is Julie's desire to go that extra mile to make your stay very special that makes this unique venue a relaxed and joyful experience. Thank you so much.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay in this lovely cottage. Julie, the hostess, was superb. She was warm, friendly and genuine. From the facilities through to the food and even the drinking glasses, we can see that she is extremely detailed and thoughtful.

Our room was spacious and the facilities very modern while the B&B retains its original English cottage charm. The breakfast was amazing - sumptuous, original, and freshly cooked from local produce. Julie even ensured that we were at the table before she started to cook the main dish! We could not ask for a better host. Every evening, I looked forward to the next day's breakfast.

Highly recommended.

Allmans Heath Cottage is just about the best in Glossop that we have used, and over the years we have used a good few. It simply cannot be bettered for location and for the warmth of the welcome and for the comfort of the accommodation. The old stone building has a strong sense of place and sits easily in a landscape of green farmland surrounded by wild open moorland. Julie, who both owns and runs the business is a native of the area and is a mine of information about what is 'going on'.... the perfect hostess.
This is the first time we have used this B&B; it certainly will not be the last. Trevor and Sheila.
