Nice location. Very quiet. Warm reception from Gill. Like those chickens and the fresh organic eggs!
Really enjoyed the place. Definitely a good choice for a good hideout.
A star!!

Thanks Gill.

The most wonderful mini break one could ask for! We stayed on a mini break having found this little gem on Holiday Lettings and we're in no way disappointing. You host Gill is very welcoming and available should you require anything and the accommodating itself is a home away from home. It truly is a hidden gem and with the little extra luxury touches you cant ask for more. We had the most wonderful relaxing time and didnt want to leave. Thank you so much and hope to stay again soon!

“Home away from home.”
Reviewed 4 March 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Firstly, a big thank you to Gill who arranged a wonderful stay for my girlfriend and I, during a long weekend getaway.

All the reviews for this property are spot on. This is a wonderful accomodation for a getaway, whether its 3 nights or longer. The drive to the property sets a wonderful scene, and certainly takes you away, for those who wish to get away from any busy city.

We arrived at HighPeak to a warm apartment, beautifully furnished, scenic and a fresh breakfast pack. The living area is spacious and has a wonderful view of the Peak behind a green garden full of chickens. The bed and shower are to die for, especially after an adventurous day. The property is full of amenities like a gas fire place, furnished kitchen, TV, DVD player, Wi-Fi and everything else you would need.

The accomodation is a walk away from town, for food and general goods. From there it was a 20min drive to get to Mam Tor (Dark Peak) where we vistited the John Blue Caverns and and climbed the top of the Peak. Along the way there are two more caverns, the Speedwell Cavern and the Treak Peak Cavern, to fill a whole day.

The next day, we visited the Ladybower Reservoir, in the Upper Derwent Valley, which was also an easy 20-25min drive. If we had more time, we would've ventured the Pennine Trail along the way.

Gill was plenty helpful, both before we arrived with her prompt email responses, and equally helpful while we were there.

I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to get away. Ideal for a couple who want to spend some time and enjoy the sights and adventures of the Peak. Great value for money and well worth the visit.

“Phew what a warm welcome”
Reviewed 7 January 2014 for a stay in January 2014

We arrived at High Peak View and were shown around by Gill the owner. We noticed as soon as we stepped inside how warm the apartment was. The apartment was very well appointed and we especially enjoyed the sausage, bacon and eggs left for us. The eggs were fresh from the hens in the garden. We had a very comfortable sleep after turning the heating down as it had reached tropical temperatures. We enjoyed looking around the town centre and were amazed by the number of shops for a "Market Town".

“I would visit again :)”

We would definitely visit again. The view's were amazing, the accommodation was gorgeous and the owners were lovely. It's really modern too, which is nice. We loved the chickens in the back garden and the little extra's like the breakfast pack was so generous, especially the fresh egg's. It's cosy and perfect for a couples getaway. There's loads of parking on the street and it's quiet so your car is safe and there aren't that many steps. Next time we will definitely visit more
of the peak. Thank you for the wonderful stay.
