Perfect location for exploring the beautiful Peak District and its many attractions, the cottage was lovely. It was well presented, with a welcome basket including free range eggs laid by the resident hens! We had a super holiday and would love to return.
A great little cottage just a short walk from Hathersage. Plenty of things to do during our week stay. So many different walks either along rivers, through woodlands or climbing up on the moors - all starting from your door step. Even if you don't go into the caves or up to the castle ruins (cost involved), Castleton is well worth a visit too. We enjoyed using the open air swimming pool in Hathersage and there were plenty of good places to eat as well.
The only thing I would say is that the cottage is perfectly comfortable for 2 adults but if you had 4 people in there it may seem a bit cramped. The sofa just seats 2 really. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is much lager than it seems in the photos.
Would definitely stay there again if visiting the area.
We stayed in Pond View Cottage for the weekend, at the end of Gala week in Hathersage. The cottage was beautiful, with all the facilities you'd need for a comfortable stay.
Bal and James were very welcoming and we had a great time at the Gala events. Would definitely recommend the cottage for a special getaway.
Such a lovely cottage. We had an excellent stay here with our baby. Very modern decor and comfortable inside. Spotless and all the amenities you would want. Owners very helpful.
Very good location for exploring the Peak District. We went to Chatsworth, Bakewell, and the Monsall trail.
We enjoyed 4 nights in this comfortable and well appointed cottage with "all mod cons" James and Bal made us very welcome. A quiet location on a working Trout Farm, but with a good pub restaurant right across the road (The Plough Inn). Worth doing some research on Hathersage as there are interesting things in the village. Open Air Swiiming pool for example. The location is also very good for reaching all the most interesting parts of the Peak District. We enjoyed Haddon Hall and Eyam Village as much as Chatsworth. Good walks available right from the door.
Just returned from a wonderful relaxing weekend at Pond View Cottage.
Beautiful cottage and amazing scenery there is everything you need inside. On arrival James showed us around Pond View and explained where and how things worked. Our weekend was snowy and cold but we still managed to walk 8 miles which we throughly enjoyed.
The pub opposite is a lovely family run country pub. Wonderful food and lovely people.
We will be back in summer, don't hesitate to book this it is a must weekend break.
And thank you to James for showing us round the trout farm you have an amazing place.
