We picked this site as it claims to be a quiet site with no excessive noise at any time and quiet after 10:00. There were 3 or 4 large noisy groups who shouted to each other across the site and a family whose kids yelled all evening in the stream and the parents drank and talked loudly well after 10:00. It needs a warden to come around and remind people of the rules, There are heaps of sites that do not have curfews but very few which are actually quiet. Our search in the Peak District for a quiet site continues!

We have just stayed at North Lees campsite (dad and my seven-year-old son) and think it is one of the best campsites we have stayed in.
As it was early April and still cold I booked a camping pod for the first time and didn't really know what to expect. I was amazed at how clean and comfortable they are, with lights and power points for recharging your phone. There was also an electric heater, which I had to switch off after about an hour as the place was getting too hot!
The toilet block was clean with free hot showers (we didn't have to queue, but then it was early in the season) and there was a tumble dryer for dying wet clothes.
I was a bit worried about getting our mattress/duvets/bags etc from the car to the camping pod, but they had even tought of that... with wheelbarrows next to the car parking places to load up your stuff. There is no shop or cafe, so just remember to bring your own food, etc,
All in all this is an excellent campsite, with easy access to stunning Stange Edge and surrounding countryside.

Room Tip: Any of the camping pods. Tent pitches also look very good.

Good site, secluded and quite. Really close to Stannage edge and good for the pubs in Hathersage. Worth staying for no frills camping. Clean toilet block with a shower and parking. Just remember if you arrive late the gate opens towards you.

You simply must stay in the camping pods, we've stayed at this campsite for nearly 3 years running and we love it, yes there could be more shower facilities but we never let this put us off! Every October without fail we stay here and we will continue to do so.
I won't tell you which pod we stay in incase you book it before us but it's brilliant, it's our piece of heaven for the time we're there !! The surrounding area is stunning, well worth getting your walking boots on for, and if you don't mind travelling a little further afield there are some equally beautiful sights to see. A most definite must !

We stayed here at the weekend, it felt very relaxing as there was lots of space between where people had pitched and it truly had a 'get away from it all feel' . On negative side lots of midges and what I think was probably a one off 'incident' some sort of local 'rave' which went on for hours ...
