“Good mud fun”
Reviewed 5 January 2014 via mobile

We stayed in a farm house nearby and enjoyed a muddy track to the reservoir. The water and scenery was lovely, lots of options for distance walking and gentle strolls. Walked to the bird hide was full of information and a helpful guide. Particularly liked the 'help yourself viewing binoculars' and the daily record of birds/animals seen today. Very pleasant and enjoyable!

“Great Place for Families and out door enthusiasts”
Reviewed 7 November 2013

The visitor centre is fantastic with a very good restaurant and exhibition area about the reservoir and water treatment etc'. Well worth visiting the centre which has been built to a high standard. Located in a lovely setting with plenty of walks. Cycling;yachting etc' all available. No fee to enter but car parking charge- not expensive for a good day out.

“Surprise Sailing in the middle of England”
Reviewed 2 October 2013

Amazing watching the dinghies sailing on Carsington reservoir with the Peak District hills making up the surrounding scenery.
Easy to access well sign posted Visitors Centre which has pay & park, plus usual facilities. Also there is trout fly fishing available.

“Great walk”
Reviewed 16 September 2013

Did the 8 mile walk/cycle around the lake which is gently undulating. Nice cafe at the visitors centre (although the coffee comes out of a machine!). We were there at a weekend and there was plenty of outside entertainment going on.
