We went as a group of 8 women and booked the spa overnight deal which was amazing value! We got overnight stay, lunch, one treatment, evening meal, breakfast, cocktail and bottle of Prosecco between us for £102pp.
I would definitely stay here again. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The spa girls were lovely and the spa itself was nice and clean, albeit a little busy. The lunch was simple – just sandwiches - but the evening meal was tip top! It was three courses with the cocktail and the Prosecco. The lamb was cooked to perfection, the steak too. We had a couple of veggies who enjoyed the vegetable cannelloni. I had the chicken dish and the halloumi for starters. There wasn’t one complaint about the food at all. The breakfast also in the morning had an abundance of choice from yoghurts and fruit to a full English.
I spoke to a few people at the spa who had booked to stay there before going to the nearby airport and their deals sounded great value too. Overall a nice relaxing stay enjoyed by all.

We have just returned from our 2 days break at Yew Lodge Hotel in Kegworth, where we had a really nice, relaxing stay. The hotel itself is very pleasant, room was spacious and clean, equipped with a fan which was very helpful as last few days were hot. The parking is quite spacious and it wasn't difficult to find a parking space. But what really made it exceptional is the level of service we received. The staff was really helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed our meals at the Orchard restaurant, well presented and tasty.
The village itself does not offer much, but if you after sightseeing Elvaston Castle is within 15 min drive, and it is a very nice place too see and relax.

We reserved a meal in restaurant at 8pm, arrived at 745 to be told to sit and we will get you a table as soon as possible - 830, I gave them 5 mins to locate table or reservation cancelled - 5 mins later table found, reason - to many people dining without reservations and reserved tables given to them. Although I was disappointed with the situation, the food when we finally ate, was excellent.

We stayed on a two night break packaged as a Murder Mystery. As this was on a steam train in Loughborough I will review that separately.
THE GOOD: there was ample free parking and the staff were all very helpful if not always getting everything right. The room was clean and well presented with a more traditional feel compared with more modern hotels. Dark wood furniture, a surplus of biscuits and a shower that leaked. There was also no air con which was a bit of a problem with it being really hot but there was a fan in the wardrobe which did a good job. The food was a pleasant surprise. Reviews did say it was good and it was, very tasty and beautifully presented. Perhaps the best feature at the hotel
The gym was excellent, one of the best I have seen in a hotel.
THE BAD: the bar was poorly stocked, there are no real beers or ales except in a bottle with choice really only cider or lager. No cocktails available except jugs of Pimms, a martini was simply not possible. Service in the restaurant was a dichotomy, I would praise the staff for trying so hard and literally running around trying to serve people but it was chaos. There was no leadership, no manager or maître de to be seen. We had booked a table for 8.00 when we checked in but there was no record of this in the restaurant, again they tried to help but we had to wait 30 minutes in the bar for a table. But more frustrating was twice being told by staff that they were prepping our table and we would be seated next only for others couples who arrived after us to be collected from the bar and taken through to the table they had just prepared.
Breakfast was similar, we had to wait for a table and when we were seated it was manic. Again, all credit to the staff that were rushing and running, some dripping with sweat but there was no structure. No one took responsibility for stocking the buffet, others were serving at tables ALL OVER the restaurant and not working one section. NOTE TO MANAGEMENT- you are letting your staff and your customers down, raise your game or get outside help to train you in business management.
THE UGLY: the 'spar'. Filthy, messy, noisy and so stressful. It doesn't help when children are not just allowed but encouraged by parents to run, shout, scream and splash. age limits ignored, just a horrible place to be, unless you are 7. Forget any thoughts about spending any time relaxing in a peaceful environment, it won't happen.
Check out was dreadful. Again the staff on the desk were trying very hard but seemed to have had no or little service training and the hotel systems were so slow and cumbersome. The queue stretched right across reception, out the door and into the car park. And again, not a manager in sight.
On balance then, not a bad hotel and helpful if inefficient staff just poorly managed. Go for the food and you'll have a good meal but allow plenty of time to check out and steer clear of the spar. If management worked as hard as their staff it would be a really nice hotel.

Room Tip: Try for a room on high floor as there can be noise from the ballroom if there is a function on

My partner and I made a two night booking with our 18 month old daughter. The hotel itself is lovely, with a spacious bedroom and great leisure facilities; but what made the stay for us was the behaviour of the staff.
Having a young child, eating in restaurants / bars can be quite chaotic, and the hotel event on the first evening created a very busy and lively service. Despite the demands of their jobs, several members of staff each found a moment to come and say hello to our daughter and try to win a smile!
This friendly service made the stay for us, and remains a stand out memory long after the end of our stay.

Recently attended a birthday party at the Yew Tree Lodge in Kegworth. The venue was excellent, food, cleanliness & surroundings all very nice. The bar staff were all very efficient and worked hard on a busy evening. George in particular was really friendly, polite, pleasant & looked very smart. Would hirely recommend this venue for any event. Thank you

Just got back from a great weekend, Hotel had everything we could have asked for, great staff and in particular Helen who was working in the main bar was very cheery and helpful a valuable member of the team.

We ate in the restaurant and the food was very good and plenty of choice on the menu and again the staff were very good with lots of smiles which is unusual nowadays.

Good Spa facilities all areas were clean and the pool was a good size.

All we wanted from this weekend was to chill and relax and this Hotel was perfect for that and we will certainly come back later in the year.

Room Tip: We were on the 4th floor and never heard a thing (apart from the airport which is very close)
