“Super Stay”
Reviewed 6 February 2012

Stayed here two nights recently and what a refreshing change.

A warm welcome from beginning to end.

Lovely clean room, good facilities, very comfy all around. Nice to stay in a room with character.

Amazing selection for breakfast. We almost felt guilty for not trying everything, as the selection was so good, by sticking to the tasty full english both mornings. Very attentive waiting staff and chef, nothing too much trouble.

Thanks for a great stay, will definitely stay again when in the area.

Cheers.

Excellent room. Great value and quality food and wine.

Breakfast was brilliant, freshly cooked full english and cold buffet.

Great staff - friendly and professional.

We'd definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

We stayed at the Kegworth House Hotel for a weekend in the Bridle Suite. Now my partner is one of the Secret Millionaires from Ch4. So high standards are expected. We recognise high standards. We expected the Kegworth House to be an OK place to stay and the reports from trip advisor had been very positive.
We were absolutely delighted with our stay. The Bridle room is fabulous and as good as any boutique hotel. The Champagne included was excellent and the chocolate Truffels a total delight, if not waist expanding. Breakfast is cooked to order, which is fabulous. Just like being at home. Other meals were not available but we managed to get some sandwiches by special request and they were excellent. Only warning I would give would be to be careful of the shallow step at the bottom of the stairs stepping out of the kitchen.
The staff were just brilliant and attended to what we required. We did not let on who we were as we expect no better or worse treatment than others. We are recommending the hotel to our friends. This small hotel exceeded our expectations by a long way. The Hotel deserves its Stars and the ratings it is getting. For those that are curious Ch4 Secret Millionaire 2008 Dundee …… and we still visit.

Room Tip: Room 6 is the Bridle Suite. Comes with Champage and Truffell chocolates and a fabulous bathroom.

We booked this guest house as we were attending a family party and it looked the nicest place to stay in the area. Our room was lovely and big with a settee and beautiful sleigh bed, and welcoming vase of fresh flowers. Lovely historic building with original features and despite its setting so close to the airport, it was very peaceful. The breakfast was also good, and unusually served in an open kitchen round a communal table. All in all very good and I'd recommend it to others.

Room Tip: No 1 has windows each end and is lovely and spacious.

From check-in to check-out, everything was lovely. Building and its decor charming. Local restaurant recommendation from reception was top notch. Room and bed very comfortable. Breakfast cooked in open kitchen next to large breakfast table with plenty of choice. Really good coffee too. Service from the guys at reception and in the kitchen very amicable. Will stay there again when next in the area.

The place is beautiful and I would describe as a shabby chic boutique hotel. We stayed in the Narnia room, no. 10 and it was gorgeous. All the facilities we could need from a hotel, but with a homely feel. Breakfast was freshly cooked in the open kitchen and served at a farmhouse style table, with the choice of so much food I was blown away. Very comfortable, clean and great toiletries! : ))
