Stayed two nights whilst at a function nearby. Its convenient for East Midlands Airport. Since my last visit some years ago, a lot of new housing has been built at what used to be the end of the car park, and access is past the pub accomodation.
All rooms are in old stables/barns opposite the pub. Room 6 was spacious enough, except for the shower, but the new owners need to do something about the carpets, though. As you step into the room directly from the car park and there's no door mat, the carpet has got very dirty. The door needs repainting as well as it has weathered badly on the outside. A failed bulb in a bedside lamp was changed quickly. You had a nice large flat screen TV and good quality bathroom accessories and overall its quite smart.
We ate in on the Friday night : not an enormous menu, but we managed to pick some good items, and there was lots on your plate if you like that kind of thing. Breakfast was quite adequate, and the black sausage great. Friendly staff and owners.
