“Impressive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 April 2014

The only tables left when we chose to eat here were the small ones by the bar which wasn't a problem as they were comfortable and it wasn't crowded. The staff were great in getting us a table. It was our first visit here since being taken over by the owners of The Greyhound in Woodville. I was very impressed with the menu choice and the food was well presented and tasted great. The value for money was excellent and I definitely would come again. There was something missing to make it five stars however, but still I prefer it to the Greyhound.

“Just a little bit Sad”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 March 2014

I'm afraid the food was just okay, definitely nothing to write home about and the service was pretty awful. Access to the garden area is difficult if you have walking problems as there are too many steps.

“Sunday Carvery”

Excellent value, décor is very Art Deco, try the small plate, it's amazing what can be fitted on it.

“Fantastic carvery at a great price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 February 2014

First visit here but wont be long before we return. Lovely carvery and they certainly don't skimp on the meat! Nine different variety of veg and gravy to die for! £7.95 on a Sunday and a bit cheaper during the week. Check out the midweek lunch option of a main course and complimentary desert or starter all for £4.95....Great value.
All staff provide service with a smile in a really friendly pub!

“Worst Sunday lunch!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 February 2014

We went as passing and we have previously been to the other restaurant the same family own and had good food there. What a mistake the tables were sticky and cutlery dirty, the seating area is very small and there was no atmosphere. The man serving didn't seem to have. Clue what he was doing as he went back and forth to the kitchen while I was waiting to be served and came back each time with one item! The turkey and beef were very dry and the mash potato looked grey. The roast potatoes and very small stuffing balls both looked like aunt Bessie's frozen foods and the roast potatoes were raw. The veg what was left as it hadn't been replaced was very soft, and tasteless. This has to be one of the worst Sunday lunches I've ever had and won't be returning!!
