We had a lovely week at Acorn Cottage, the cottage has everything you need, once inside it is deceptively large, there were 7 of us but we had loads of space to do our own thing of an evening. It's in a great spot for some of the major tourist attractions, Chatsworth House, Bakewell, Buxton, Eyam, and cycling on the Monsal Trail which we really enjoyed. Tideswell is a really nice village with everything you need on your doorstep. Stuart was a great host, leaving instructions and also a handy guide to the area. I'd definitely recommend anyone staying here.
Beautiful cottage perfectly equipped for a great holiday in the beautiful Peak District.
To be thoroughly recommended.
This was a fabulous cottage and very well equipped. Very clean and spacious. Lovely setting and close to bakewell which was equally beautiful.i would most definitely go back. My only negative was that there was no hair drier
We enjoyed our recent stay at Acorn Cottage. With 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms there was plenty of room for everyone to either spend time together or have some 'me' time. Having a ground floor bedroom and bathroom was ideal for my mum who has mobility issues. The cottage is also pet friendly and our dog Ted enjoyed his stay. All of the rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The main bedroom opens up into the delightful garden which has multiple seating areas including a summer house. The cottage is situated in a quiet but friendly village with easy access to the surrounding areas of the Peak District. Although we didn't meet the owner he was available on the phone if needed and was very helpful when we had to have a wheelchair delivered to the cottage.

We had a fantastic time at Acorn Cottage and loved every minute. The layout is superb with all members of our family group feeling that they had their own wing in the property. The garden is beautifully kept and has lots of little areas to sit out in and enjoy. It is well located, being just a short stroll from the local pubs and shops and although there is only a small parking area by the house there is plenty of spaces in the square below. Stuart the owner was very friendly and attentive to any issues we had. Overall, even as a regular visitor to Tideswell, I have to say it was one of the nicest places we've stayed in. Highly recommend!

I had invited my immediate family to spend a week away in the Peak District, none of us had ever visited before but all wanted to see this beautiful part of England. I had a look on Trip Advisor to do some research and up popped this cottage, It had all the requirements, sufficient rooms, a bathroom per couple and it was Pet Friendly! I have a large dog who is very much part of the family so we needed a place for ALL of us. I contacted Stuart E, the property owner, and very simply made the booking; as you can imagine it was a bit of a logistical challenge to get everyone's holidays agreed but Stuart was patient and I confirmed as soon as I could.
We arrived Saturday afternoon and the weather couldn't have been more perfect, we were met by Stuart E's wife who welcomed us in and promptly left us to get settled in. The cottage is perfectly situated in the very picturesque village of Tideswell, it has a great deal of space both inside and out so even if there are 8 of you, you don't feel penned in. You have the opportunity to dine both indoors and out with this cottage seating 6 comfortably, 8 with a couple of 'emergency chairs'. When the cottage says it sleeps 8 it genuinely does, I must confess I had images of group skiing holidays with accommodation which promised sleeping provision for umpteen and actually only had 1 main bedroom and I always ended up sleeping in the drawer under the sofa!! Acorn cottage however has 4 bedrooms although 1 room upstairs has a smaller bed than the others so you can sleep 2 but its a tad cosy.
The cottage is equipped with everything you could want and the Co op in the village is open long hours even on Sunday for your basic requirements. Monday appears to be the day everything is closed in the village.
Stuart E was extremely helpful before, during and after our visit and happy to answer any queries. There is a very handy short walk very close to the cottage for your dog(s) to have their morning or evening constitutional. The village is extremely pretty, peaceful and people are incredibly friendly. The cottage, in my opinion, is a home from home its incredibly cosy, nicely decorated and easy to keep clean and tidy during your stay. We had incredibly hot weather and we took full advantage of the BBQ, summer house and garden. I had planned a family holiday for ages 16-75 years old, the common requirement was peaceful relaxation and the time to spend family time together, everyone was very happy with my choice of location and accommodation (much to my relief). Tideswell is situated very close to many attractions and opportunities to explore but it does require a car. The cottage offers secure parking for 1 car and any additional vehicles can be parked a short walk away in the market square. Highly recommended.
