Lovely modern cottage with all mod cons. Spotlessly clean and lovely gardens and views. Nearest town Wirksworth - 5miles away with shops and pubs.
Many walks on the doorstep and blackberry picking aplenty.
Ideal location in the countryside and perfect for recharging batteries.
Would stay here again.

Cottage fantastic - two of us and pet dog and place was spacious, cosy and excellent decor. Had everything we needed for our weeks stay. Central for trips out and total silence and bliss for the times we spent there. Gardens and patios excellent for naps, drinks and BBQ.

“Midsummer Wedding”

:)))))))))))) we rented both cottages and an adjoining field for our wedding reception/ weekend. Jo, the owner was amazing throughout, despite having never taken on the epic task before...maybe not again....! Everyone loved both cottages, clean, well equipped, great design and quirky bits. The little terraces/ patio areas were very cute and great for the amazing weather we had, it sort of has a Southern French feel, well when the sun shines! Anyone who saw the cottages said they would like to stay here for a mini break or holiday. Although we didn't get chance to explore, the area is brilliantly placed to for loads of Peak District and south Derbyshire tourist spots and just enjoying the countryside too. Wirksworth the local town is very nice with independent shops, a great chippy (Friday night tea), deli (cheeses bread for the wedding) and The Red Lion which has a pizza oven too (ceremony and pizza canapés). Great cottages, friendly helpful on site owner and gorgeous countryside, what's not to like!

“Peaceful and relaxing looking down onto the Derbyshire hills”
Reviewed 28 December 2013 for a stay in December 2013

Stayed over xmas 2013. The barn sleeps 2 but is big enough to have a comfortable week . The kitchen facilities are very useful and allows decent meals to be cooked. The one bedroom is spacious and incorporated a casual bathroom. The only downside is the bathroom being that its casual aspect means that the door is a curtain and there are walls but it is open topped. Not a problem, just some timely communication is sometimes needed especially when we had some guests for xmas day.
Our dog was allowed to come and there's a back garden to use although we took advantage of the many back lanes surrounding the barn for the dog walks. Theres plenty to do especially walking. Carsington water is 10 mins away by car as is wirksworth and belper which has supermarkets etc. All in all I can recommend staying here and is good value for money. ... oh and wifi allows streaming and fast access which is great....
