Loved this cottage with its gorgeous sea side theme. It had everything we needed for a cosy and relaxing stay. The bedroom was just lovely and the bed so comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped and the owner had thought about everything you would need. The information notes and details on where to go and what to do was excellent and we tried to do as much as possible. The location of The Bolthole was perfect for getting out and about. No journey was difficult. We really fell in love with the cottage and the area and will definitely be going back.
Its been a long time since we have been to Norfolk, both my wife and my families holidayed in Norfolk when we were kids as it is the closest coast from where we live. Shame we left it so long, both in our 50's now. The beaches here are second to none, with a special mention to Old Hunstanton beach, 10 minutes away by car and one of the biggest sandy beaches you can surely come across, it brought back fond memories as we camped out, sun shining, in the dunes with our picnic for the day and went back and forth to have a dip in the sea with our dog Tim who was in seventh heaven. The Bolt Hole is ideally situated at the start of what is called "The Champagne Coast" on the coast road to all that it offers, we had a great time visiting all of the coastal towns and villages with Well's a particular favourite. The locals from shop staff, car park attendants and people we met were so friendly, it was really noticed and made us feel most welcome. As for the `Bolt Hole' itself, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, a pretty cottage that is 'fully loaded' with all that you would need with the addition of being clean, comfortable and dog friendly. Can I make a special mention to the 'Rose & Crown" in Snettisham, a 10 minute walk from the Bolt Hole if you go via the gravel alley that cuts the end of Station Rd off, you'll find it :0). The food, beer and staff in this pub are a must, we were made to feel like 20yr regulars upon our 1st visit and the food fantastic, as for the beer I personally recommend a pint of Bomber, lush! Overall, don't dither just book it !!
Snettisham is very dog-friendly - the beaches, pubs and shops, with The Bolthole being comfortable, quirky and cheerful. We had a relaxing stay, doing not much, and thoroughly enjoying it !
The cottage is very clean, warm and cosy. It has everything you need for a short stay and the instructions on where things are and what you need to do are great.
Snettisham has everything you need, great pubs and a superb Bistro which we would highly recommend. We have a large car and parking was a problem as all the adjoining cottages were occupied and on times it didn't leave enough room for us to park. On those occasions we were able to park a short distance away so it wasn't that much of an inconvenience.
My little family ( my partner and dog) stayed at the Bolthole for my birthday. The premises is so cute, ticked every box I wanted. It was just perfect.
The host was also there to answer any questions and very approachable and met our needs as much as possible.
The house is very welcoming, host left us a welcome pack of bread milk and wine which was wonderful and welcome pack of things to do which we took full advantage of.
We had such a splendid time in Snettisham such a beautiful quaint village, we spend 8 hours just walking around the village, beach and woods it's so pretty.
In eve words of Arnold Schwarzenegger
"I will be back" if the host will have me.
The location suited us perfectly, in a lovely village ideal for exploring this part of Norfolk. The cottage is cosy and well appointed, ideal for a couple that isn't put off by a steep and narrow staircase up to the bedroom and bathroom. Sarah went out of her way to resolve issued that came up. We certainly expect to stay again next time we visit Norfolk.
