“Great overnight stay”
Reviewed 20 September 2011

An ideal overnight stop when exploring north Norfolk. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed, the bathroom good and breakfast excellent. We researched their website and decided to eat dinner in the bar; an excellent choice of delicious food, which was less expensive than the restaurant.
There are places you must visit when in the area, so check them out before going, especially Langham glass where the glass blowing work is a joy to watch, and Norfolk Lavender (if you like lavender)! Much more to see all around.

Room Tip: Couldn't fault the room, so if they are not full ask to see them. Big front room was great.

Although the White Horse has fantastic views and great facilities, we were very disappointed by the food which frankly wasn't great value for money and not the standard we would expect for the prices paid. The choice was also very limited. There is a wonderful terrace at the rear of the pub/hotel overlooking amazing scenery. However, you may only use this terrace if you are eating tapas. If eating from the limited bar menu you have to use the front seating area which, although nice, is noisy, or the bar area. We would certainly not eat here again.

Beautiful location with lovely views from the garden rooms we stayed in, each of which has it's own patio for sitting outside. Also perfect for staying with your dog.
What impressed us most, however, was the restaurant and particularly the food. We are Vegans and the expertise and knowledge of the chef was very evident in the fine food that was prepared for us. There was a different menu every time we dined and the food was beautifully cooked and presented. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and soya milk and soya yoghurts, for Breakfast, were available for us without any specific request, beyond stating we were Vegan. We will definitely be back.

a great place to unwind. I return every Spring with 2 or 3 dogs on my own or with a partner...total bliss in the cottage rooms or the room with a view. They have magnificant sunsets from the terrace. Lovely food and the staff are exceptionally good. It really is the place to be sociable and relax. Dog friendly and imaculate. The only problem i find is that I never want to leave!

Have stayed here couple of times - and eaten here ++
Very popular with the older, weathly crowd

good breakfasts - even if non resident
good local beer - from their own microbrewery now
excellent local food - eg brancaster oysters cooked 3 ways
spotlessly clean

BUT the really wonderful thing is the brilliant view - now with tapas on the terrace

We booked this hotel for a joint birthday celebration with our son and his wife. Although we have always stayed in the 'pods' before (and loved those rooms) this time we booked the 'room at the top' and another room in the main building. We were lucky enough to be there for the hotel's tasting evening when many of their local suppliers provided locally produced and seasonal foods. As always we had a lovely time, rooms are extremely comfortable, the top room well worth booking, and its a great location for walking the north Norfolk coastal path. We will definitely return, as everybody we have taken there has thoroughly enjoyed their stay.

Money can't but the views you get from this lovely place. The conservatory overlooks Brancaster Staithe, the food is very good and the staff are excellent. The accomodation is extremely comfortable and clean. Worth a visit.
