“Fantastic, shame about the weather .”
Reviewed 27 January 2014 via mobile

My wife and I had this stay given to us as a present and what a fantastic present!
We stayed in room 11; best room we felt - great layout; fantastic views and really we'll laid out! (My wife is fussy when it comes to cleanliness and all that )
Add to this the staff were great; the bar had a great atmosphere and the food - what a choice - was lovely!!
Breakfast was what I've had in TOP city hotels!
Wonderful , apart from the weather! But hey as good as The White Horse and the staff were, I really don't think they could fix this, although if they could I'm sure they would.
YES I would recommend - especially room 11
YES I would stay again.
Many thanks.

Stayed for just the one night with our dog and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.Great young staff to whom nothing is too much trouble,a well stocked bar with good ales and a great choice of wine by the glass. Our room was very comfortable and plenty of space. We ate dinner in the restaurant with the food and service to a very high standard .Next morning the breakfast menu was as good as I have seen anywhere and what I had ordered was cooked to perfection. Will be back in the New Year.

Booked a window table and were not disappointed, fabulous view. Friendly and interesting staff, good atmosphere. Service great. Food amazing - the men has mussels and the ladies the seafood chowder - best I have ever eaten. Couldn't fault anything. Even the Ladies was an event! The perfect start to a weekend break in North Norfolk. Just hope they haven't been too badly affected by the tidal surge. Will definitely return x

We never tire of that wonderful view, so pleased you agree. The best panoramic views along the coast we feel. Fortunately no damage with the tidal surge although neighbours were not so lucky. Really look forward to your return visit.

We stayed at the Whitehorse on Saturday and had a fantastic time. The rooms are beautiful – clean and finished to a really good standard. The food was exceptional, some of the nicest seafood I’ve eaten in a while (I recommend the mussels and definitely the smoked haddock Florentine for breakfast), whilst my husband had the pheasant which he also gave rave reviews. The restaurant also has a really lovely feel to it, a great atmosphere and then in the morning we got to enjoy the beautiful view over the salt marshes. There are some excellent walks nearby and you’re also not far from other beautiful spots on the north Norfolk coast. The staff were also lovely, attentive, friendly and professional. I couldn’t recommend this place more.

We dropped in for a pub lunch last Friday. The bar menu is interesting and we both thoroughly enjoyed our food - mussels and squash and gosts cheese crumble. The crumble was excellent and unusual. A fabulous location and we fully intend an overnight stay with dinner in the restaurant.

We stopped here for a lunch last week - very disappointed - my partner chose a dish of home-made corned beef with a poached egg - it was the smallest meal we have ever seen - he ended up eating most of my meal - it was literally just a slice of corned beef which apparently was very bland and a small egg on top - hardly a lunch main meal and £12.95 so not cheap. We didn't stay at this hotel but the views out the back were lovely - must be nice in the summer and we may try again on our next visit to Norfolk.

We had a wonderful lunch here two Saturdays ago; enjoyed it so much we're returning this weekend with a visit to Norfolk. The chowder was delicious - really fresh and great value given the amount and variety of fish and seafood in it. All the waiting staff were great; just the right mix of friendliness and efficiency. The staff were mainly young people who clearly enjoy working there. Thanks for a great time in a wonderful location.
