This is our first stay at Old Low Moor Farm. The Granary is an ideal stay, comfortable, warm and cosy. Our hosts Karen and Jeff Milton have made us very welcome, and provided us with all we need to make our stay in the Granary excellent.
The location is very rural, and for us is ideal. Situated close to the A19, access to Thirsk, Ripon and York makes it an ideal stay for visiting this area. So much to see, visit the market towns of Thirsk, Northallerton and the city of Ripon are all within easy reach.
Historically the area has much to offer, Rievaulx Abbey, Byland Abbey date back well over 700 years, and tell the story of the early Cistercian monks and St Benedict. Also Mount Grace Priory, another Cistercian monestry.
I would recommend staying at Old Low Moor Farm, and hopefully would like to return soon.
This is the first time we have self-catered and can't believe how lucky we are to have discovered Old Low Moor Farm Cottages and specifically for us - The Granary and the lovely owners, Karen and Jeff. The Granary is all you could wish for and more: well designed with plenty of room in all areas, comfortable furniture, beautiful furnishings and absolutely spotless. Karen had prepared a very welcome basket, including a bottle of wine - just what the doctor ordered after our drive up from Holyhead!. There are outside seating areas both back and front, a tennis court, fishing lake (ask Jeff about this) and a play area for children. We would recommend the Dog and Gun in the village for a great meal and happy hosts but it's imperative that you book in advance. The Granary is the perfect, peaceful location for exploring the Dales, North York Moors and the east coast and your hosts Karen and Jeff are the icing on the cake - a pleasure to meet.
This is one of the best accommodations we have stayed in. The Granary has been lovingly, yet sympathetically, converted to a very high standard with oak and granite as well as a keen eye for detail in the design. Karen and Jeff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly, If there is anything you need to know about the surrounding area or amenities all you have to do is ask them. There is a fabulous tennis court that is a joy to play on as well as the fishing lake to while away the late afternoons or early evenings (just ask Jeff). We would recommend visiting the dog and gun pub in the village for a superb meal. We will defiantly be recommending this accommodation to both family and friends.
Just returned from a wonderful long weekend break. The Granary was just perfect with it's authentic farmhouse look but with modern facilities. It had everything we required and was absolutely spotless. The location was ideal for both Moors and Dales exploring. Karen and Jeff are the perfect hosts and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. We would definitely recommend this as the perfect peaceful getaway and we look forward to our next visit.
The best holiday cottage we have rented so far. Perfect facilities, Perfect location, a beautiful cottage that offers all the amenities and a fantastic quite location, very peaceful. Karen & Jeff are very friendly, nice hosts, who are very concerned about the well-being of their guests. The attention to details and the welcome basket full of wonderful treats was a lovely surprise. Accommodation is highly recommended. It is impossible to be disappointed when you rent this wonderful cottage, which is spotlessly clean and finished to a very high standard. Cannot wait for our next visit.
A beautifully designed, cottage. Very comfortable to stay in.
The owners were very welcoming and friendly, ensured that I was comfortable and had all I needed.
Set in lovely grounds in a quaint little village close to the main A19 giving easy access for visiting different areas.
I would definitely be happy to stay again.
