Just got back from a lovely weekend at Morndyke Shepherds Huts... what a lovely tranquil place to spend a few days.
The huts are superb!! Every attention to detail has been executed. Warm and cosy with a lovely log burner, sheepskin rugs, luxury bedding and everything else you could possibly need... normally a ‘self-catering’ place requires a ‘kitchen bag’ with washing up liquid, tea towels etc.... not here!! Absolutely everything you could need was here... Tea, coffee, sugar and even a pint of milk in the fridge waiting for us....along with a basket of lovely goodies of bread, jam, butter, biscuits and wine. That’s what I call a welcome!! Lovely outside area with BBQ and fire pit and table and chairs!! All you need is sunshine...
Wonderful hosts Tricia and Alan were fabulous...nothing too much trouble for them.
Will definitely be returning in the summer with nothing but my clothes and a toothbrush!!!
Beautiful tranquil setting ideally located for access to Dales and coast. Fantastic welcome hosts, Trish and Alan couldn't do more to help.
Our hut was immaculate and warm and cosy with log burner lit on our arrival, with thoughtful welcome pack of goodies. Bedding beautifully soft and like floating on a cloud, cuddly and snug. Lovely surroundings and great fishing lake for those keen fishermen. Local equestrian centre near by which kept my daughter happy!. Trish was a great resource for places to eat and visit so plenty to do and see. It was just a shame we could only stay for 2 days. Would definitely stay for a week as didn't want to leave!.
Thank you Trish & Alan for a wonderful stay that certainly recharged our batteries, we will be booking again and recommending to our friends. Thinking of summer stay to make good use of your own BBQ area and relaxing with glass of wine and couple of steaks !
See you soon x
Most impressed with the cosy luxury on offer here. Stayed in Flopsy in cold snowy
weather and was as snug as can be. The log burning stove was amazing. The dog and I were toasty warm!
The overall spec of the shepherds hut was extremely good, comfortable and well stocked, with much attention given to detail.
Enjoyed watching the large number of birds on the feeders near by. Further away lovely views of the North York Moors shining in the evening sun.
I definitely intend to return later in the year and may be try my luck in the fishing ponds.
With the cold weather I was a little nervous of coming for my 2 night stay with Husband and our Labradoodle 'Mutley' but I shouldn't have worried! Our hut was toasty warm with the log burner on and it really is a home from home with great bathroom and kitchen facilities. The views from the hut are stunning and we enjoyed some great walks around the farm as well as some great trips into Thirsk for food and beer! Beds were large and bedding warm and cosy. A great bed was provided for Mutley too so we didn't have to bring our own. Tricia was so relaxed and welcoming. She told us all about the area and gave some great recommendations for eats/drinks in Thirsk (all dog friendly) Thanks Tricia - We will def. be back! :-) x
Wow- just back from an amazing two night stay at Morndyke. The shepherd’s hut was absolutely gorgeous with so many extras. I loved the complimentary basket of goodies - such a nice touch. It was snowing outside but the log burning stove kept us toasty. The setting is beautiful and we had some great walks with our dog. The owners were so lovely and friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. We will definitely come back in the summer to enjoy the barbecue and fire pit. This is now on our list of holiday favourites.
