I stayed here for one night Saturday 15 November. Called in advance and couldn't have found a more friendly place from phone to food! My arrival was all hinged around wanting to see the rugby international Eng v NZ and I was over the moon when told they would ensure I was able to guarantee my seat for the game. Nothing disappointed on arrival as I was made to feel extremely welcome by everyone including the friendly customers but also Dylan the wonderful (large) Rhodesian Ridgeback who is the life centre of this lovely local pub. What more could a man ask for than a real cask ale, good food, Sky Sports Rugby, superb spacious room and a hearty breakfast with proper sausages and bacon from the butcher! Room rate for B&B for one was £35.00 so you simply cannot afford to go anywhere else when visiting Thirsk!!!
