The white horse itself will only grab your attention for a short while, but the walks and views will take your breath away!!

Up close the horse is a bit disappointing and looks scruffy. From the car park you are too close to get a proper impression of how it looks from the distance. A climb up the steps is worth doing as there are wonderful views over the Vale of York from the top.
We then saw the horse from just south of Oldstead and from this distance it is a much more impressive sight. It's certainly more enjoyable if you can see it from both close quarters and from afar.

Walk this area alot, beautiful scenery, if you park at the bottom of the white horse it is very steep to climb but you feel great when you get to the top. You can then walk along to sutton bank where there is parking and a cafe along the way you can see glidders been towed off the bank. All in all its a lovely walk.

Good climb up to the top from the car park, worth it for the views from the glider field. The misty rain made it seem all the more marvellous, and the interpretive signs were enlightening.

Without doubt the most calming place to be in the UK . The walking is easy but do go down to the lake albeit it is more rough walking . The cafe in the car park is good for a light bite and the walk to Cold Kirby is also worth it . The ice cream at the bottom off the horse is a nice refreshment and very tasty
