Liked absolutely everything, the location, the ambience, the quality of the accomodation, the taste of the locally produced food as served in the restaurant, the attention of all of the staff and the feeling of complete relaxation.
Disliked absolutely nothing

We called here on the way back from Thirsk and had a very enjoyable lunch, the Gentleman behind the bar was most helpful offering advice as where we could sit with our two dogs and insisting on bring our drinks out for us. My wife elected to have the Gourmet burger which she thoroughly enjoyed, I had the Fish & Chips served with Mushy peas also very nice.Taylors Landlord was very moreish - it would be very nice to stay over, maybe next time!

Beautifully refurbished with songs in the toilets, attentive staff, keg beers and lovely food with a fine view.Prices a little high but good ambience makes up for it, and is worth the journey to get there. Rooms look interesting...would merit some future investigation. On the negative...not good form to fill one half empty white wine bottle into another half empty one behind the bar when they think no one is watching. Could this be the reason my wife was ill all evening soon afterwards...perhaps?

Had a lovely meal there with my wife when we visited the Harrowgate flower show. The queenie scallops starters were not good value and frazzled when they came; we pointed it out reluctantly as we felt disappointed with such a tiny portions and quality. We were not charged and went on to have a very tasty lamb dish and a brilliant cheese board which opened my eyes to Yorkshire cheeses. The dessert and wine was also great.

Lovely atmosphere, good beer and well deserving of a second visit.
