“It Felt As If I Was In India”
Reviewed 7 June 2011

My boyfriend took me to India Night as a surprise and it is by far the best present he has ever gave. As soon as we entered, we was greeted by polite staff and guided towards our table that was reserved. The atmosphere and decoration was immaculate in terms of creating an indian atmosphere and was very spacious. We was handed a menu and given as long as we wished to choose as the staff were patiently waiting for a response. I was hesitant at trying the starter of sheesh kebabs but found it was absolutely delicious. We had the chicken biriyani as the main and was blown away by the beautiful spicing and was impressed at the indian traditional pudding kulfi. The alcohol bar had a nice selection and we opted for shiraaz. The amount of this food was shockingly cheap which shocked me as it was like a 5 star restaurant therefore, made sure i gave a generous tip. I recommend this restaurant to everyone in Wellingborough to experience a night in india.

“Good takeaway”
Reviewed 17 May 2011

We probably use India Night 1-2 times per month for takeaway but have yet to dine in to experience table service.

India Nights might have an issue with Trading Standards by offering free delivery, yet simultaneously offering a good 20% discount on order collection. I don't actually mind paying for delivery but do object to the word 'Free' when it isn't ..LOL

Anyway, banter aside, we have always been very pleased with all our food from India Night and have never had cause for complaint except for one occasion when the starter salad was omitted .. a very minor issue.

Curry fans should be very happy with their India Night food. We always are.

“Food is the best I've had in years !”
Reviewed 29 April 2011

We went to India Night restaurant as a large party and had a great time. it was our friends birthday and they put up decorations for us(we didnt ask them to). The food was really the best indian food Ive had in years. I had their Dansak which I would recommend.
After we had the meal we had a few drinks and all the staff joined in to sing happy birthday which was lovely!
The staff also gave us Sambucca on the house to all of us as a nice finishing touch.
We get takeaway food from here now as the food is so fresh, if you love indian food you have to try this place, you will not be disappointed.

“Worst customer service ever”
Reviewed 7 February 2011

We went as a party of 23 - large I know, but we had pre-booked. Plus there very few people in the restaurant. We arrived at 7.30pm. We got some poppadoms, but didn't get a menu until they'd finished. We then ordered. Our starters didn't arrive until after 9pm, and were brought out 1by1 - literally. When out main courses finally arrived at 10pm, the table was split into 3 sections for service. The first 8 were served, and by the time the final section was served, the first lot had already finished their meals.

As we wanted to keep our drinks separate we paid for these separately, however the staff actively discouraged us from going to the bar so we had to try and order drinks at the table and get change from waitresses. Very confusing and time consuming.

Also - the restaurant ran out of change half way through the evening. Not good with 23 people all wanting to buy drinks.

When it came to paying we were very disappointing. Their online price (and also a paper menu in the restaurant itself) stated that the meal would be £9.95 for a starter, side, main and rice/naan. However there wer small cards on the table stating that it would cost £8.95 - seven days a week - for the same deal minus a side. We had booked on the premise of the online price, so were expecting to pay £9.95 each. However when we came to pay they staff directed us to look at the small print on the table card - seven days a week - however not really at weekends, that would cost us £10.95.

We argued the point that the amount of different prices online, on printed paper menus and then on tiny cards which were promtly removed from the tables was bad marketing, and said that we would accept poppadoms as our "side" and wanted to pay the advertised price of £9.95 each.

The staff were very agressive and rude, they weren't helpful at all, and could not see the varying information was poor for their restuarant. In the end we apid £9.95 because we chose to, not because they agreed to it. They wanted us to all pay the higher price and complain afterwards. Working in marketing - and understanding the need to honour your own mistakes to maintain good customer service and relations - we all know this is not good practice.

We will not be returning.

“Excellent value for money and great food”
Reviewed 8 April 2009

India Night is a favourite of ours especially on a Wednesday night when you can choose 2 courses with a side and a bread for the bargain price of £7.95. The decor is nothing special but it's clean and the service is much better than the Voujon. Well worth a visit.
