We had the Tea & Sanctuary package. It would have been great if the tea was in a warm cafe attached to the centre but it was a short walk away. There was an open fire but the chairs were tin and rather cold on the bottom. Once into the sanctuary we had access to the spa pool, steam room, salt pool and monsoon showers as well as a lovely relaxing area with chilled water and fruit to stay hydrated. We circled through all of these and had a relaxing 2 hours. The showers were hot and toiletries were provided. We asked for a hairdryer and this was brought promptly. It is a bit on the pricy side but to be expected in the spa resort area. Free lockers were provided to secure your things whilst in the Sanctuary.

We had booked a Bathhouse + Tea package ($90 for two on a Saturday) but bailed on it after the tea because it was so clearly not going to be value for money. Tea is in a pokey "shed" away from the fancy buildings you see on the website. The interior has sort-of been done up in a trendy fashion but there was zero atmosphere or view, especially with the "lads" doing the service.

Then we went into the Bathhouse, and it looked like a small public pool. One pool, one spa, and loads of people. Not quiet and relaxing at all. I've been to the Peninsula Hot Springs and for a little bit more than we would have paid at Hepburn, you get much more for your money at their Spa Dreaming Centre.

Thank you for your feedback. Our New Pavilion Tea Room has been designed to provide a more intimate, warm cosy environment, including an open fireplace to enjoy our home made Scones, Champagne & Berry Jam and Tea. Many of our Bathhouse Guests visit the Tea Room in their bathrobe, between Bathing and Massage or Spa treatments and now enjoy the warmth of the Tea Room area. The Tea room is still located in the Historic Pavilion building built in1908. This Edwardian heritage-listed building has long been a meeting place in Hepburn Springs. The larger Rotunda area remains open for your use should you choose to enjoy your Devonshire Tea in that area. If you would like to make contact with me directly I would be pleased to discuss a return visit and once again I thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

The Bathhouse Sanctuary consists of 2 pools, one of which (flotation pool) has a sign suggesting a maximum of 4 people, the other of which has 4 spa couches (one person each), and comfortable room for 4 more people. The steam room is great, but never really usable for longer than a few minutes at a time. They do advertise relaxation couches, but nobody really goes to the baths to not get into the baths. They also open up the regular pools (also nice) to Sanctuary visitors, but with the price you pay for access, you always want to spend the maximum time in the more "premium" area. I guess different people have different levels of comfort with the busyness of places like this, but realistically, absolute capacity is about 14-16 people.

When last we visited (Mid July 2014), it was vastly overcrowded. At one point there were 12 people in the flotation pool (sign says 4), 10 in the spa pool, and 4 of us in no pool. I didn't check the steam room, instead we went to the general section, which was nowhere near as busy (but then less than half the price we actually paid).

We have been visiting friends in Hepburn a couple of times a year for a while now and generally go to the Sanctuary in the Bathhouse on our way home (to Melbourne). I'm not sure i'll be going back on the strength of this visit.

My wife is heavily pregnant and wanted to relax... We got relaxation massages, and then went for a soak in the sanctuary... It was all very nice.
Perhaps a tad over priced. But I guess this is spa country.

We were 6 female mountainbikers who did the goldfieldtrack last week, 5-7th of July 2014 and treated ourselves to the Hepburn Bathhouse on the first day. WHAT A TREAT. We did the sunset session and it was the best treatment after being outdoors riding in the rain all day. We felt so good the next day so for anyone who wants to give their bodies and muscles a break, this is the place to go and re-energize. We went out afterwards for dinner and had such a good appetite. I enjoyed the saltpool the most but also loved the massage chairs in the water. Highly recommend going, it was definitely the hightlight of our day. Thanks Brigitte

Dear Brigitte

Thank you for your kind comments. We are very glad that you enjoyed your Twilight Bathing session with us and that you felt rejuvenated after your bathing experience. The Salt Pool is a fantastic place to ease the tension of sore muscles before enjoying an underwater massage on the Spa Couches.

We do hope that you will return to visit us again in the future.
