We were recommended to this place but would not recommend to anyone else. We are unsure if there are any decent motels in the town. We were told after the fact that the caravan park has lovely self contained cabins we could have used. We will not be staying here agian in fact unsure if we will bother staying in Atherton

Room Tip: Don't stay here no room is any good. The whole place needs a clean up and paint job to bring it into the 21st centuary.

We enjoyed a two night stay here in late September 2012, and were extremely happy with our visit. Our room was clean, comfortable, good value for money, and offered a lovely view from the patio outside the sliding door. The room was certainly large enough that we had plenty of space and never felt cramped.
We were very impressed by the owner-operators, and the other staff as well. On arrival, I mentioned to the owner that I was in terrible pain from a back injury. He made a couple of calls for me, and I soon had an appointment with an excellent massage therapist the next day. He also recommended the Atherton International Club for it's 2-for-1 Monday night bistro special, which on the night offered a choice of 4 mains with chips and salad which, with drinks, saw two of us fed for under $20. His kindness and local knowledge was much appreciated.
The pool was very clean and inviting (unlike many others we encountered throughout Qld!) and in the late afternoon we enjoyed a swim while the lorikeets enjoyed their feeding frenzy, courtesy of the motel operators.
We had the oppportunity to meet the housemaid and her lovely little beautifully-behaved Pomeranian dog, Boe, who waited quietly outside the rooms as she worked. As mentioned earlier the room was very clean, and for me this is the most important factor in choosing accommodation wherever I travel in the world. (I have paid $300 a night in a brand new London hotel, and was disgusted to find lipstick on the towel and used tissues under the pillow!!)
We plan to return to this beautiful part of Queensland in the future to further explore the little towns and attractions, and will certainly base ourselves at the Atherton Motel.

This motel was clean and comfortable Three and a half stars. The gardens and outlook from the units are worth enjoying. Staff are friendly and the adjoining chinese restaurant is good value with excellent food. A good central position to explore the Atherton Tablelands.
