Spent 3 nights here in a studio apartment. It is situated right on a small sand beach with great views. Despite the resort being busy the room was quiet and the area was peaceful. The room had a comfortable bed with a good-sized shower (no bath). There was both a ceiling fan and air-con.

HOWEVER, the cooking facilities were very poor. One very small electric frypan and a microwave are not enough to prepare meals. There were no sharp knives (but we brought our own), no colander, no wooden spoons and no way of boiling water for rice or pasta. Because the resort is not near any shops (10 mins by car to Woolies) and very few eateries, cooking in the room is essential. This was a big drawback and it doesn't cost much to provide a basic kit for cooking. Should be rectified asap.

Hi
Thanks for your feedback
We have 4 different types of accommodation at Rose Bay. The unit you stayed in was the smaller Studio apartment which is a motel type unit. These have a kitchenette with basic cooking facilitates for people wanting to have breakfast in their rooms. (sink, microwave, toaster, jug, fry pan, plates cutlery, etc)
Those wanted to have full self contain apartments, book the one bedroom, two bedroom or Penthouse apartments. These apartments have full kitchens, oven, hotplates, full crockery, saucepans etc. We have guest that stay in these for weeks on end and do not need to eat out.
If someone is in a studio and need something extra than what is supplied in these units, we have a selection of spares on site and are more than happy to supply if requested.

Cheers Paul

This is our second stay, the first was over Easter and we loved it....so we decided to book for 2 weeks over Christmas...Smart...we think so...Its almost like you have the place to yourself, its quite and not many children running around which is always a bonus when trying to have a relaxing holiday.....To wake up to a stunning view every morning makes us more grateful and reminds us how lucky we are to live in Australia and all to have all this at our doorstep. The apartments are clean, have all amenities in them and the best view of the beach. Paul and the staff are always floating around if you need something.

Room Tip: all rooms are great, they all have ocean views, maybe second floor!

The Rose Bay Resort is a beautiful spot immediately adjacent to the town of Bowen. Each unit has absolute beachfront views of an intimate little bay which has a gorgeous sand beach and glorious views of Holborne, Middle and Gloucester Islands at the top end of the Whitsundays. If you are lucky you may strike Turtles nesting or hatching on the beach at your very front door. If you don't get a chance to see the turtles, ask management to show you some of their photos, they even keep a diary on the nesting & hatching, so they know when to expect their next visit. Management were friendly and accommodating to our requests. We stayed in a spacious 2 bedroom unit with a full kitchen and 2 bathrooms. The units are modern and fully air conditioned, important for the summer months in this part of the Queensland coast. Bowen is a cute place with many small bays to explore. There is plenty to do here, bush walks, swimming, snorkeling, etc. We ate at The Cove Thai Restaurant close by in Horseshoe Bay, had lunch at the Yatch Club and bought fresh seafood at Arabon Seafoods at the marina in town...all good experiences. A bonus for us was to go to the local(small) markets close by and as it is mango season, buy the first pickings of the local produce. There's no better mango than a Bowen Special! Rose Bay Resort is a fabulous weekend getaway. Next time I hope to stay longer.

Room Tip: We stayed in unit no 1 which was ground level and at a quiet end of the complex....however I think a...

The rooms with ocean views are roomy and relaxing, in a quiet very well maintained property. I stay regularly and find staff very helpful and friendly. Restaurants and takeaways a few minutes drive away.

We stayed here at the last minute based on reviews. Although quite nice with a beach front location, the staff were clearly inconvenienced by our 6pm arrival, were unfriendly and only offered a 1 bedroom instead of cheaper studio apartment, despite the car park being nearly empty and apartments being clearly vacant. For the price, we expected at least an introduction to facilities and options. The bathroom and kitchen were run down and although the place wasn't bad, it had an unwelcoming vibe. Seems they have become over confident with bookings and feel that near enough is good enough. Won't be back.

I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. As you can see from all the other reviews, it is very unusually for guest not to enjoy our little bit of paradise. We always offer what rooms are available to walk in guest. Not knowing the date you stayed, I can only presume it was on a Sunday or after a public holiday. If we have a heap of check out on these days, we often do not get them all cleaned and we only clean the change overs. This would explain why we did not have any studios available. If we had a prior booking,we would make sure the room was available, however for last minute walk ins, we can only offer the clean apartments that are available.
We do not automatically offer upgrades or cheaper apartments to walk in guest. We also show walk in guest the apartments before they stay and explain the price so you know the room and cost before you decide to stay.
I am surprised at you comments about the kitchens and bathrooms as we often get positive comments about these. Yes, they are 10 years old, however they are in excellent condition and much larger than the brand new units.
At the end of the day you were not happy with your stay and being we want all of our guest to enjoy Rose Bay Resort, we apologise if we did not live up to your standard.

My husband and I stayed here last week for 4 days and honestly you don't need to go anywhere else to find paradise. Thanks to all the posts on trip advisor for convincing me to book here and for giving us a local knowledge on what is around this area. The yaght club is a good place to eat (need to check when open) and people lovely.. Also very fresh fish (caught in the morning) that they will cook for you at a fish and chip shop on the opposite side of the yaght club, is a must!

Room Tip: Second floor facing the sea - doesn't get the afternoon sun

My partner n I stayed here over the october long weekend with another couple. We booked at the last minute and were very lucky to find accommodation here. I sent an email to managenent enquiring about any vacancies and received a reply soon after.
The manager Paul was so helpful and flexible with booking rooms close together and with our late check in at 7.30pm

We had a studio and 1 bedroom apartment with a garden view room. These were just as good as those facing the beach as it is just a short 100m walk to reach it. Beautiful location with very clean rooms.

Would definately return to here again.
