“Usual camping site but fair dinkum restaurant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 December 2012

Reviewing this place objectively there are definitely a few positives. The camping ground is literally next to the beach. There is only a small dense strip of remnant rainforest that separates our tent from the beach. You can’t see the beach through the rainforest and I’m glad that the trees are there to act as an obstacle to the crocodiles (there are no crocodile; it’s just me being paranoid).

The amenities are standard; they are not new but all the amenities definitely performed their functions. You need to remember that this is a campsite so the fact that there is running hot water has already satisfied my expectations. There are cabins for those of you that prefer to sleep on a mattress.

I am impressed by the wood-fire pizza restaurant at the camp ground. At Cape Tribulation, there are no other eating establishment options around the camp ground. Therefore, the $18 tasty pizza that I ate was a real surprise. The size of the pizza is the same as a gourmet pizza you would get in the city. We ordered the Cassowary (a chicken pizza) and the Crocodilian (a crocodile pizza). The cost of Toohey New and Pure Blond is $5. Again, I am very surprised by the decent pricing of the beer considering that there is no pub or bottle shop or any other alternative for that matter that you can just go to, at the end of the street, and buy drinks. The service was good; a chilled type of service. The staffs are Australian, so we were able to interact with the ‘locals.’

Overall, camp ground is a standard camp ground but the restaurant is a good discovery and worth visiting.

Couldn't ask a better location but unfortunately the camp facilities were not as advertised and were very dirty. The safari tents were disgusting as was the camp kitchen... no urn or microwave not even a kettle to boil water. So much potential but would not recommend this place until it has a major overhaul and cleaning.

We stopped in for the wood-fired pizza (glad that sign was at the road) and YUM!!! Seriously, that was some fantastic pizza. My husband and son apparently missed American food and had the pepperoni. My daughter and I had the BBQ chicken. LOVED it all!
But the show stopper was the dessert pizza--Nutella, cream, and caramelized bananas! I talked to Amber who made our pizzas and she was happy to share the recipe! So sweet!
A lovely affordable lunch at what looked like a fabulous campground on the beach!

We had the most wonderful three nights at this camp ground, within walking distance to pristine beaches.
Staff were awesome, Kat convinced us to do the snorkeling trip (so glad we listened) Brayden- Chef, great wood fire pizzas!! We had the reef pizza. James wad great helping us to book and then re-book tours, everyone was happy to chat.
Loved the whole set up of the place. Thanks guys we will definitely be back!!! We've blogged about it and told everyone to come see you!!!

My new favourite campground, and what an amazing location, in the Daintree only metres walk from the beach! Fantastic large camp kitchen with lots of facilities (gas stoves, fridge, rainwater, bbqs) which always seemed clean!
They sell the essentials on-site and if you want a break from cooking, the wood-fired Pizza was fantastic! Went well with a nice cold beer! Each night I was there the staff arranged for a campfire where travel stories were shared under a beautiful night sky, full of stars.
There's plenty to do and friendly staff, such as James & Braden were great at assisting with bookings, answering questions and providing recommendations.
Thanks for a wonderfully relaxing stay. I'll be back! :)

Just a short walk from your campingspot to Myall Beach, south of Cape Tribulation. Cape Tribulation Beach is a 15 min bikeride from the camping. Simple but clean amenities. Beautiful surroundings and relaxed atmosphere. Woodfire pizza's are amazing.
