We had never ridden a horse before, but had a strange urge to ride through the forest and on the beach at Cape Tribulation. We were picked up on time by our excellent guide Sam, and taken to the stables to meet our horses (and the other riders). The horses were individually matched to us, and we set off at walking pace through the forest, across creeks, and to the beach. We were encouraged (but not forced) to try trotting and cantering on the beach - both of which are pretty exciting for new riders! Then we walked and cantered back through the forest to wrap up a lovely afternoon. We felt safe and secure the whole time, and could not have asked for more. Strongly recommended as a memorable activity in the Daintree.
