“Serene and unspoilt”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

Have been here over several trips over the years and it doesn't to have appeared to have been taken over by commercialisation. Yes, there are places to stay and places to eat but it is done with the environment in mind. Take time to do several of the boardwalk walks and stroll along the beaches. Take heed of the croc signs. Yes, you are in crocodile territory so just be weary of where you are. It is safe if you take the right safety precautions and watch where you hang out. Enjoy, it's a beautiful serene part of the world away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

“Excellent”

We took this trip with Tribal Adventures. It was a full day and was fabulous. We were picked up from our hotel and spent the day travelling to Cape Tribulation, the Daintree Forest, Mossman Gorge, Port Douglas and back to Cairns. We saw plenty of wildlife, swam in a natural river, and had a local guide George, with us all day. He was full of stories and was great fun. We loved the day, and would recommend this day to everyone.

Such a beautiful place. For filled a child dream to visit where the forest meets the sea. Wish I stayed longer but will be back again.

A great drive up to Cape Tribulation. Wonderful rainforest experience and some great places to visit along the way. Keep an eye out for the elusive Cassowaries!

“Stunning!”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

I hired a car for a few days, so decided I would get some use out of it and drive from Port Douglas to Daintree National Park and Cape Tribulation on my own, without a tour. From Port Douglas, the real depth do Daintree commences as soon as you cross the Daintree River - 40mins from Port Douglas (including crossing time). Once crossing the over, you are welcomed with beautiful rainforest everywhere you look.

The climb over to the Alexandra Range is beautiful, but the roads are quite narrow and windy, so be careful. I stopped at Cow Bay (a really lovely and quiet beach) and Thornton Beach on the way up - nice for views to Cape Tribulation. I also stopped and did the Jindalba walk trail which is on Alexandra Range and really lovely.

This part of the world is breathtaking and easy to do on your own.
