We stayed with friends over two nights in two adjacent cabins. The cabins are ideally set up for two people, and well-placed for privacy and orchard and mountain views. There are other places that give more of the rainforest experience, but the Farmstay is so convenient, being within walking distance of beach and watering holes. Dawn made us welcome from the word 'go', organised us just as much as we were ready to be organised; in other words, very helpful and informative, but not intrusive. If the opportunity arises, we will come back, and we recommend it without reservation.

Fantastic hospitality at the Cape Trib Farmstay. Only a small number of rooms which makes it a personal stay. Dawn, Vicky and Samuel were very friendly, helpful and warm. The staff live on the farm so easy to get a hold of. They invited us to join a wood fire pizza dinner with all the guests. I guess we were lucky that there was a big group staying who made pizza. They were delicious. Make use of the pizza oven, a really unique feature. The communal kitchen is well equipped and the outdoor dining and lounge area is lovely and relaxing. The gardens are beautiful. We stayed in a Farmhouse room. The accommodation was super basic and the bathroom was shared. Just outside the room were some washing machines and telephone.

We spent last night in cabin 4 which had a fantastic veiw from the verandah of the mountains. Within 5 minutes you can be on the beach. A 10 min walk takes you to a great resturant. The fruit platter for breakfast was great and use of a fully functional kitchen is also part of the deal.

The cabins are basic but clean and comfortable. The location is very central and the owner, Dawn was absolutely lovely. Eco friendly with only solar power and tank water. This b&b is Recommended. Bbbbbbbbbbbb

Loved our stay here. Unique setting that is respectful to its environment, Eco friendly practices that look after the environment as well as ensure guests are comfortable.
Amazingly friendly staff, beautiful orchard, lovely cabins, nice shared kitchen. Good variety of fruit, cereal, toast and eggs available for breakfast.
Sam, Vicki, and Des (Sven) made our stay comfortable, and personalised. We toured the orchard, walked in the rainforest to the creek on their property, learned about and tasted new fruits, learned about the local area, and enjoyed the accommodation. Booking things to do in the area was taken care of for us. No complaints, can't wait to visit again. You three went over and above for our family. Thanks for everything.

Having just returned from here I am perplexed by the raving reviews, but I think it may be because the owners were not there and it is the off-season. When we arrived, the property manager was not expecting us that night (although I confirmed my email dates were correct) and was preparing for a large gathering of friends at the farm that evening. The cabins were clean, but she was waiting on some linens to dry, and she "would get them to us". We just drove up to the cabins without any real orientation to the place....she later said she would catch us the next morning. But, we ultimately had to go ask for the linens after dark and the next morning came and went without a tour or any more time with us.. Everyone is really quite friendly, and happy to suggest things to do and places to eat; no complaints there at all. But breakfast is certainly "BYO". They provide store-bought sliced bread and butter and jam and possibly eggs and some cereal of average quality all. Coffee beans were there, but would require some explanation to work the grinder, etc. The fruit is really nice, but it's a single basket of uncut fruit...about 6-8 fruits... each morning (and we had two cabins and four people and we got the same amount of fruit as the single person staying there. I'm certain we would have been provided more, it's just that trying to make sure to catch the manager in time to ask for that would be difficult and frankly awkward). Most of the people hanging around seemed to be friends of the manager. The cabins weren't serviced at all during our three night stay...again, they probably would have been if we had asked, but who has time? We just needed trash service and a sweep-out, but we just took our own trash up to the farmhouse. Two of our pillows never had cases and although the cabins were really tastefully decorated, the beds are on rollers on hardwood floors with casters that have no traction left. No shampoo was provided. Overall, this is a nice experience if that is what you are expecting, but I wouldn't qualify it as a standard "bed and breakfast". After we got back I compared prices with some of the other resorts nearby and I think these cabins are overpriced. The "shop" area is rather junky, but the grounds where the cabins are is really nice and we probably wouldn't have gotten space like this at some of the other places there. The kids got to run around and that was worth a lot to us. Overall, I would stay here again for under $100/night per cabin with just my husband and I and we would bring all of our own food; if we have the kids we'll stay in a family cabin at a resort nearby at much less cost.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review Cape Trib Farmstay. Your input and the feedback from all of our guests is very important to us and we always want guest expectations to be met throughout their stay.
We are pleased to read your children had space, freedom and safety to play and run in. We hope they enjoyed the banana cakes that were baked for your family.
Per your comments, please note that the owners have met with the staff covering the property during this period and have provided support to ensure that our standards of NQld hospitality etc. are always kept to our high standard.
Good to hear you enjoyed Cape Tribulation and all it has to offer.

We stayed for three nights in one of the cabins. Our window and balcony looked out over the orchards to Mount Sorrow, shrouded in mist. The cabins were really clean and comfortable, and the shared kitchen/dining space allowed us to meet some lovely guests. We had a delicious fruit basket to eat through each day, and Sam also brought us some of the more unusual fruits to try, and showed us how to husk fresh coconuts! It's a few minutes walk from the beach and spots to eat.

We had a really perfect stay and were really impressed by how welcoming and friendly Dawn, Vicky and Sam were. They gave us lots of information on things to do during our stay, too!

Room Tip: Some of the rooms in the main house only have a window overlooking the common area - they are cheape...
