“Magnetic mid August”
Reviewed 16 August 2013

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights arriving on a Sunday. Walking distance to main horseshoe bay restaurants and pub. We had room 3 that had kitchenette and a shady balcony, visited by local possums, wildlife at your doorstep, great. Saw plenty of koalas on our walks up towards the hill forts. Meal at Sandi's really good on Sunday ,but closed Monday and Tuesday. As a result of Which, if you're veggie like we are, and you fancy making something for yourself the owner Margaret has made the kitchen available, so we made a meal for ourselves on the Tuesday night and ate at the luxurious dining table.

As others have said the breakfasts are bountiful and decorative, plenty left for a snack later. Margaret is a friendly owner who's advice was useful on our stay and can give us pommes an Aussies' local knowledge.

We stayed here on 10th July 2013 and found it 1st rate. Large comfortable rooms, run of kitchen, lounge and dining areas and spotlessly clean. I would recommend for short or long stay. Call Margaret your host.

We have five lovely nights at this B&B, and are really pleased we chose Horseshoe Bay as our base for our holiday. The B&B was clean, comfortable, had everything we needed, was an easy 5 minute walk to the beach, and close to the bus stop so easy for getting around the island. As other visitors note, the breakfasts here are great, and we split the food over two meals every day. There was only one other guest while we were there, so the house was very peaceful.

Room Tip: The house has four guest rooms. I was surprised that we had to share a toilet with another guest - o...

We have just returned from a lovely stay of 3 nights at Magnetic Sunsets. Margaret, as mentioned in the other reviews, is indeed a delight and made our stay just wonderful. We came and went as we pleased, and every morning we had a wonderful breakfast awaiting us outside the door. The breakfast usually arrived around 6am which Having the use of a full kitchen was a bonus as we could cook our own meals whenever we wanted. Walking down the road to the water activities as well as the local Foodworks shop and restaurants was easy to do. Margaret suggested some walking tracks for us to explore and also gave a suggestion for dinner one evening. There is a mini-moke available to drive which requires a donation to the McGrath Foundation. We took advantage of this on our second last day and headed over to West Point. You will find Magnetic Sunsets exactly what you are looking for if you are wanting a lovely, private room (love those palm trees outside the balcony), breakfast at your leisure and an ideal location to Horseshoe Bay.Highly recommended.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to have the pleasure of staying at Magnetic Sunsets for 8 days. Margaret was a generous host who made us feel welcome and comfortable.
We have a property on ' Maggie' and were there to do some maintenance - Margaret was also helpful with the 'disposal' of garden debris by giving us the use of her trailer and property. Thanks Margaret - hope to see you again in Feb. when we will escape to' Maggie' and enjoy the pleasure of your wonderful 'home away from home'!

My wife and I have never done B & B. We loved Magnetic Sunsets, Maragaret was a terrific and unobtrusive host who provided amazing breakfasts which actually became lunch as they were so plentiful. Room was great, location fine and close to beach, pub, restaurants etc. One bonus was the good quality meals at the two or three eating places which provided excellent mackeral and chips and salad for $20! Maragaret also has great knowledge of the island and was very helpful with any questions. We stayed for 7 nights and loved it. Will return next year if possible. Rob and Lyn Wilson, Torquay Victoria.

Room Tip: Back room may have a little less traffic noise in morning if a light sleeper like me.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. In the room is a small kitchenette available and on top there is a very large and complete kitchen to share with other guests. Private balcony with table and chairs for a delicious breakfast which is provided to cook yourselves. The B&B is surrounded by a beautiful garden which gives you lots of privacy and a out of this world idea.Margaret, the owner of the B&B is a lovely host.
