My partner and I stayed at Peppers for one night and it was not enough! We live in Townsville and went over to the island to celebrate a special occasion and I am so happy we chose Peppers. We arrived just after 1pm and our room was not ready yet (check in isn't until 2) so we happily made our way to the bar to enjoy a drink. The staff were very friendly and we were able to confirm our dinner reservation for later that night. We went back to reception at 2 where we were given our room keys. We were also given (which was a HUGE bonus as we had no idea!) 2 half priced cocktail vouchers and a voucher for a free bottle of wine if we ate at the restaurant for dinner (which we did!). We booked a Superior hotel room (with a view) and it was great! Sure, there were a few scuff marks on the walls but compared to how great everything else was it didn't even matter. Our balcony overlooked the marina and it was just beautiful. We had king size bed and a nice bathroom with a huge shower (although - no bin in the bathroom? a bit strange!) and a nice area with a couch/chair in front of the tv. There was also a dvd player which could tune into the radio which was nice. I also wasn't expecting any kitchen facilities as we had just booked a hotel room, but we still had a kettle, toaster, dishes, wine and champagne glasses!
The dinner at the Boardwalk restaurant was great - we had originally booked for 8:30pm but got back from an earlier excursion a bit earlier then expected and there was no problems to change our reservation to an earlier time. Waitstaff were attentive and the meals were delicious - the best steak I have had in a long time (and properly cooked!). Breakfast was included in our stay and the buffet was lovely and plentiful - fruit, yogurt, muesli, pastries, on top of eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, mushrooms, etc. etc.! And of course juice, tea and coffee. You could also get eggs to order if you didn't want scrambled. Again, we found the waitstaff at breakfast to be very pleasant. Check-out time is a bit early (10am) but we were able to stow our bags with reception and spend the day by the pool which was great! We stayed at the bigger pool and practically had the place to ourselves - there was also a bbq cooking area. We then had one last meal in the restaurant (they have a great lunch special for $20 - a main, dessert and a beer/wine/softdrink).
Overall, it was a great little getaway for us and we are already planning our next trip back to Peppers Blue on Blue!
