When booking I was disconnected twice. Required to pay in full up front. Woman on reception whinged and whinged in a very theatrical way about the previous customer (I left wondering if she whinged about us as well). Booked their best room but door jammed on entry, outside security light not working, cars driving past from 5am. Rooms are quite run down. Both neighbours smoked so if I opened our doors and windows the smoke just blew into our room. This rainforest accommodation should be smoke free.
On the positive the bush setting is nice and it's only 5 minutes by car from Kuranda township.

Room Tip: Garden cottages quieter than the noisy poolside rooms and less opportunity for smokers to fill your...

We stayed here for 2 nights in October. The cabin was ok, quite basic, we had expected something more like a wood cabin however the cabins were more caravan-like and very out-dated. The surroundings were very nice and you can walk around the site down to the railway tracks. As it was low season everything was shut including the restaurant so we ended up going into Kuranda and getting pizza from one of the only places which was open. Probably wouldn't stay here again.

Stayed here for 5 nights and would have gone elsewhere on the first night if I'd not already paid for the duration. There was an overwhelming smell of mould in the cabin. It was also obvious that the cabin had not been recently cleaned - there was dirt built up in the shower and the hand basin. The ceiling fans were also caked in dirt/dust build up. There was also visible mould growing all over the fridge seal, and in patches on the walls. I was able to clean the obvious mould using vinegar, and got rid of most of the odour using boxes of bi carb soda placed around the cabin and leaving the windows open as much as possible. However the worst of the smell appeared to emanate from the bedding itself which made sleeping quite uncomfortable - not much I could do about that unfortunately. I should note that staff at the local Information outlet did say that mould was a constant battle given the rain forest location, however I do think that a bit more attention to cleaning would have made a world of difference.

We stayed here in march 2013, it was beautiful, we swam in the pool whilst watching the bats fly over at subset, we Cooked in the well kept open outdoor kitchen with wallabies for company and we spent the evening listening to all the other animals of the rainforest. Well sign posted and easily accessed, the spaces are a good size for vans, the shared kitchen was a great size and had lots of equipment in good condition, (be prepared to eat with bugs-it's the jungle) and the shower were clean and hot. The pool was a good size too. The staff are friendly and helpful and will give you great tips!

We stayed here for two nights in a cabin and expected something very basic. The cabin itself was indeed that, think backpacker accommodation. What you are paying for here is the location. Set in wonderful rainforest away from the hustle and bustle of it all it was such a treat to sit on the veranda in our own little slice of paradise. A short ten minute walk along the Kuranda Rail track takes you into Kuranda village. While pleasant enough I wouldn't be doing this walk in the dark - everything shuts in Kuranda at 15.30 so this wasn't a problem. This was low season. Having driven 5 hours from Townsville on arrival the reception greeting was a little disappointing. No information offered and felt rushed to give money, get key and get out. All in all a nice experience in an excellent location if you don't mind reliving your backpacking days. Two nights here is enough.

Kuranda Rainforest Accommodation Park is set in a lovely location but sadly the cabins don't meet up to this standard. We stayed in the Rainforest Cabin for 4 nights and were very disappointed when we arrived. The cabins were quite close together and overlooking each other (at night we could hear people talking and walking over the floor which was quite loud). ( information on the internet site gave us the impression that they were more secluded). The cabin was not properly cleaned (we found a peanut on the floor, luckily none of us had an allergy), the cutlery was rusty and the can opener did not work. When I asked if we could upgrade to a Family cabin ( $10 extra for us) I was told that one was not available even though we noticed no-one was staying in 1 of the cabins for the first 2 nights we were there. The positive was that the two other cabins next to us were not used for all the 4 nights we were there and the beds were comfortable. Another plus was that the resident padymelons were obviously quite used to people and we saw them next to the cabins in the mornings and evenings. We think it would be nice to have face washers provided with the towels. We were also disappointed when we wanted to watch TV because the reception was dodgy and only worked on a few channels. I felt that the staff could have been more accommodating. Two of us happened to get ticks/fleas while staying there.

Room Tip: The family rainforest cabins may be a better choice at $10 extra a night with a full fridge separat...

We stopped in the backpackers lodge. When we arrived the sheet had a strange white mark on it, which we found rather off putting! Our sideboard was covered in mites which we didnt initially notice until they had managed to make it into our drink, paperwork, camera! The kitchen was pretty rundown with only basic battered pots and pans. It was ok for a night stay, but wouldnt have fancied anymore.
