“Great place to stay in Maleny”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2014

My partner and I were in Maleny for a wedding and stayed 2 nights at Pomodoras with their wine and dine package. The 3 course dinner at the restaurant was delicious (don't miss the mushroom risotto or the chocolate fondant) and we thought the package was great value. On Saturday morning we walked straight out into the shopping experience that is Maleny's main street. Sunday's cooked breakfast was amazing (I would recommend the vegetarian omelette- caramelised onion and mushroom- Mmmmmmmm!!!) The accommodation was light, bright, clean and spacious (but we felt a bit fat because the whole cabin jiggled a bit when one of us walked through it- ha ha maybe its diet time!) and had a lovely, private outlook over Obi Obi creek. We loved our stay at Pomodoras and will definitely stay there again.

We stayed for 2 nights in Cabin 5 and found the the Pomodoras was just what we needed after a very hectic 5 week holiday of travelling around. It is very quiet and peaceful and the owners very welcoming and hospitable. The cabin was very clean and well provided, the bed comfortable. The food was excellent in the restaurant. It is a short walk into the town. We found it a central position for touring the hinterland. If we are ever back in the area we would definitely return.

I expected more from a 4.5 star rated accommodation.

We stayed at Pomodoras on Obi during May 2014. We had just arrived from a long 12 hour journey and wished to check in. We were greeted by rude office staff who not only ignored our presence but took a personal phone call and then proceeded to slam their office door in our face. Little did we know this was only to be the start of the problems with Pomodoras on Obi.

During the course of our stay we encountered the following issues:
1. Getting clean linen is like trying to squeeze blood out of a stone.
2. The ironing facilities were very poor. The iron was dirty and the board was too low to the ground and therefore impractical.
3. Whilst the bathroom was spacious, we found the water in shower would not get hot, there was little water pressure and the shower head was tiny.
4. The "continental breakfast" is little more than stale bread and small packets of cereal.

Thank you for your Feedback. Yes you stayed with us recently for 2 nights and I must personally apologies as I (the owner/manager) didn't attend to you as soon as you arrived, I was acutely taking a phone call from one of our brides who has her wedding booked with us next weekend.
As we are a small family run restaurant & accommodation venue we do not have a separate receptionist for check ins and sometimes my staff can be attending to other diners in the restaurant, so we just ask for a little patience upon arrival if there is no one at the reception desk to greet you.
The gentleman that you would have spoken too about fresh linen has only been with us a month and still has quite abit to learn when it come to the accommodation side of our business. We don't offer a daily service but are happy to provide fresh towels or sheets on request.
We try to uphold a high standard of cleanliness in our cabins and I will certainly be talking again to my staff about the importance of checking that all equipment is clean and in good working order.
Our continental breakfast would have also included fresh fruit platter and homemade French macaroons on arrival plus organic juice & tea/Montville coffee provisions in the cabin. On Sunday mornings the restaurant opens from 8 am for a cooked breakfast if you had preferred something a little more substantial.
Again thank you for your comments as I believe you never stop learning which can only make us better at what we do.
Yours Kindly
Jodi Bond

We stayed in cabin 1 for two nights, having a small child with us, the room was perfect. Very spacious with room for her to run around, beautiful comfortable bed and big bathroom, and the balcony was nice and secure so I didn't have to worry about her falling. We got complimentary macaroons, a fruit plate and breakfast, all of which were beautifully done and tasted amazing! Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to try the restaruant but had locals tell us it comes highly recommended. Defibately the best value for money out of any accommodation iv ever stayed at.

I organised a 3 night stay for my Mums birthday. It is not easy to find accommodation that sleeps 3 people, so I was delighted when I found Pomodora's as it is new, stylish and the cabins are roomy. From the moment we arrived, we were so warmly welcomed. The restaurant is outstanding, the accommodation is beautiful and the staff went above and beyond to ensure my Mum and her 2 sisters enjoyed their time. The setting is peaceful and in a great location. Jodie and the staff are brilliant which made their stay a truly memorable experience.

A perfect getaway for couples wanting to spend some quality time together, beautiful surroundings and very friendly staff.
The only bad thing was a short 2 night stay, can not recommend enough this gorgeous place to lay your head.

We booked all of the cabins out for 2 nights for our wedding at the start of March. We have loved this place from the moment we first visited. The cabins are spacious with lovely views of obi obi creek and also has a lot of greenery around which makes you feel like you're a lot further away from town than you really are. There are generous breakfast provisions - I found the fresh fruit platter, organic juices, coffee plunger with provided Montville coffee grinds and the macarons particularly a nice touch. Very much enjoyed a coffee on the deck each morning, looking out at the beautiful scenery.

We've had many meals at the restaurant - mostly lunchs and dinners and are yet to have a bad meal - all top notch. As was the food served at our wedding.

We've had such great experiences at Pomodoras with Jod, Chris and the rest of their team, would highly recommend a stay here.
