We had a lovely time, we could have stayed all day. The owners were lovey and very friendly. The new bird aviary and other animals were great as well. The kids loved it.

We didn't realise that the Botanic Gardens charged for entry, $22 for the two of us which we thought was pretty steep seeing as all other Botanic Gardens I have been to were free (Cairns, Brisbane, Rockhampton, Sydney etc..).
I was disappointed but we decided it wasn't worth the money. If you are a really keen Botanist or feel like treating yourself then I believe the gardens are lovely, and suitable for you.
If you would prefer to save money then I strongly recommend the Mary Caincross Reserve (gold coin donation) or the Kondallila falls circuits (free)

Our Gardens are fully privately owned & funded with no government or public assistance, hence the need to charge an entry fee, as opposed to government funded Botanic Gardens. These do not charge directly via an entry fee, however they are tax payer funded & therefore visitors pay indirectly to visit them & for their upkeep.
This garden comes with a story, it is the owner's lifelong dream of one day creating his own magnificent garden. I believe it is a real gift and a treat for us that he now shares his once private garden for everyone to enjoy.
"The best things in life are free" is a saying that may ring true for some. If you go by this premise alone, you may just miss out on some beautiful spots in this country.
Mary Cairncross Reserve & Kondalilla Falls are beautiful spots and offer a very different bush &/or rainforest experience to complement our Garden experience.
You do not have to be a keen botanist to enjoy gardens. Gardens are visited for all kinds of reasons - colourful plants, serenity, views, peace & tranquillity, to name a few.

We visited yesterday for my husband's birthday and ended up spending a lot more time meandering about the gardens than we thought we'd take. The gardens have stunning views across the Sunshine Coast hinterland and Glasshouse Mountains from almost anywhere in the gardens. Although a work in progress, there were plenty of areas for us to explore, the mass plantings and colour variations are themselves a work of art. There were two main sculptures that we found, some more would be lovely to see, particularly to showcase the work of local artists. Several large ponds scattered about the grounds contribute to the overall peace and serenity, as well as helping with temperature control and watering of the gardens. We were delighted to be able to wander about in the animal enclosure, petting the goat, sheep, llama (or alpaca?), and pony. The walk-through aviary isn't quite finished but we spent some time talking with the birds through the mesh, particularly a pair of gorgeous yellow-orange-green parrots who must have been hand-reared, they didn't mind their claws being stroked (whilst keeping a close eye on their beaks!). Plant labels are not yet in place, hopefully soon as although it's fun to try to guess the variety, it would be nice to know. Next time we visit we'll bring a picnic to take advantage of the many areas with tables and shade. I love how the cement watering tanks are utilised by building gazebos on top; clever, attractive and functional. We loved our visit and look forward to visiting again. If the owners read this, could I suggest that you have some sort of discovery trail for children and adults, similar to the animals that we noticed dotted around the township itself. That would add a little bit of fun and intrigue to the visit, perhaps to be able to find various native animal statues or carvings dotted about the gardens, with an info plaque on each. And a few fairies and elves dotted about would also be lovely and add some mystique. Thankyou so much for sharing your beautiful gardens with the public.

Set halfway down a steep hill and overlooking the Glasshouse Mountains, these are very different from any other botanic gardens I have visited. We had a beautiful afternoon tea of homemade scones and locally produced jam and cream before going for a wander. The gardens are massive: there are loads of water features, picnic tables and shady seats; a paddock with a very affectionate pony and goat (kids would love them); an aviary, and a variety of flowers and different plants. We liked how colourful the garden is. It's more bushy than tropical, too, which seemed unique and made it interesting. We stayed a couple of hours and really enjoyed our afternoon. A great spot - we highly recommend it.

We celebrated my birthday walking throughout this magnificent massed planted, terraced wonderland of gardens and lily pad ponds with stunning Glasshouse Mountain backdrop. This former cattle property is being lovingly converted to a Garden of Eden. A huge aviary and petting zoo will be added soon, with future plans for more gardens and a chapel and restaurant.

We enjoyed a delicious Devonshire tea served with special Maleny dairy cream, in a shaded gazebo that overlooks these gardens topping off a splendid birthday celebration!

Please note though you will need good walking shoes as some garden pathways are steep. There is a small entry fee but well worth the visit.

We left with such a sense of peace and tranquillity.
